Friends invited us on this trip to celebrate a few major milestones and it didn’t disappoint. The boat was very nice and the crew and staff were nicer. The cabin was small but had a great veranda with chairs and a view and plenty of storage. The crew was very attentive, friendly, and fun. The food and drinks were plentiful and delicious. Especially the soups! The destinations were beautiful ...
This was our first cruise. We chose the Viking rhine river cruise because we felt that the small ship style of cruising would better fit our comfort level. We were totally surprised and are not happy with Viking's procedure to raft another ship alongside our ship when in port. This happened everyday. Most of the raftings seemed to be on our side. When rafted at port, you are literally only ...
The Viking river experience was so much better than I imagined. We had a group of fifteen friends and some family who traveled together. The boat was very clean, the staff were fantastic and we all knew each other by name by the end of the week. The food was delicious, every meal, believe me no one will go hungry. Our activity director Bennie was so much fun, we loved her and all the activities ...
Looked through the advertisements finding the Danube River Cruise. I had never been to Germany before and had always wanted to visit there. We enjoyed the great meals in the restaurant onboard. Especially the great service by Joseph and Ferdie. We are picky eaters and they always made sure we had something excellent to eat! The service personnel always made sure we had plenty of water to keep ...
We chose this cruise because it was our first time in Europe. The itinerary was approachable and ports were closer to us than the Danube options.
Pros:
Great food almost every day
A different port every day
Service was exceptional - truly everyone on the ship was engaged to make sure you are having a great time
Once onboard, information is readily available and they're always ...
Loved the itinerary stops, staff, and food! This was our second Viking River cruise and it did not disappoint. The staff went above and beyond in their service to us. We were on the bottom level of the ship. Both my husband and I use canes for mobility. Coming up and down the bottom staircase and going to the outside top deck from the bar area was challenging at times but we were able to utilize ...
We chose this trip because of the cities visited. We spent a couple days in Amsterdam before boarding the boat. Everything was top notch. Our rooms, food, staff, and daily trips were wonderful. The staff learns your name and likes quickly. We were spoiled with delicious meals and desserts. It’s a very relaxing, comfortable way to travel. Our room was very comfortable. We had US and European ...
The crew and staff were outstanding! The food was beyond 4 Star-so much so that on days we could have eaten in the port city, we chose to come back to eat at the ship. Our wait staff made our trip so enjoyable and we looked forward to interacting with them each meal. The chef even came out after most dinners so ask about the meal and chat a bit.
Evenings in the lounge were casual and fun. ...
We chose the Danube Waltz because the countries visited and the region were on our bucket list. The thing that stands out the most to me is the organization and seamless process Viking creates to make the journey so comfortable and stress free. From the color coded bag tags, to the Viking ambassadors that met us at our arrival airport to the departure transfers the stressful parts of the trip were ...
My best friend of 60 years and I decided to take this cruise at the recommendation of her daughter and it was truly amazing! However, we did NOT get started on the "best foot". Our ship, The Ve was in dry dock when we arrived in Amsterdam with "maintenance issues". We were supposed to be able to embark on our ship at 12:30 p.m. and all throughout the day, we were "updated" with various times, ...
