Being that it was our first Viking River Cruise, or any kind of cruise, the questions abounded. But from landing in Munich to begin our journey, to the boarding of the River Boat Embla, we quickly discovered that the Viking Crew had everything in hand and all of our questions, and those even not thought of were answered. It was actually such a whirlwind adventure we didn't even realize how great ...
The staff was great. The food was great. The tours were great. The room was good except for the temperature being either freezing or burning alive hot and water pooling on the balcony (no drain hole on edge).
Unfortunately 5 out of 6 in our group contracted Covid19. Looking back there was lots of people coughing and talk about a lot of people having chest congestion. Needless to say this put a ...
I chose this cruise as I wanted to try a river cruise on Viking. They were having a sale and the price was right. I loved the ship, the cruise line, the ports, the service, etc. The weather was ok, warm at the onset, some days of rain but I expected that and there is no way to prevent that. The room was spacious and well appointed. The meals were excellent. The ship was beautiful. I really ...
We chose this cruise because of the location- Prague to Budapest- and because 3 couples from different areas of US wanted to experience a trip together. Our hotels were located near sites and public transportation. There was a long and then rushed bus ride from Prague to Passat but then we boarded and the adventure continued! Wait staff was first rate- always ready to meet our needs. The cruise ...
Pre-cruise hotel in Munich (Hilton) was fine. We needed to place a call for A/C fan not working. Tours were good and interesting. Local restaurants were few, we needed to secure rides to get dinner.
Pre-cruise hotel in Salzburg (Sheraton) was nice and close to shopping and restaurants. Tours and tour guides were outstanding. Our Viking representative for these four days was great.
We ...
We chose to do the Prague pre-cruise extension. While the weather wasn't the best (chilly, some rain) we felt this was the best part of the trip. We met 7 awesome people that we ended up socializing, eating meals with and in our same tour group the whole trip.! I truly believe we were meant to do this just to meet these friends which we know will be life long. The architecture , history and ...
I had always wanted to go on a Viking cruise after listening to many of my friends who had previously travelled on Viking. The Danube voyage did not disappoint. Budapest was much lovelier than I had expected. Each of the tours, be it Budapest, Bratislava, Wien, Krems, or Linz was conducted with professionalism and very informative. I appreciated the fact that each tour was rated as to the ...
Cruising the Rhine and Danube was on our bucket list, and we thoroughly enjoyed the entire cruise. We have a lot of interest in World War II history, and the ports along the way offered insights that were very interesting to us. The beauty of the area we were cruising through was wonderful, as the Fall colors were just starting to appear. Watching as the castles and small villages went by was so ...
We chose Viking to do a riverboat cruise because our first experience on Viking was this last February on an ocean cruise from London up and down the Norwegian coast to see the northern lights. That cruise was spectacular, so we wanted to try a river cruise.
The food and service were equally wonderful, and we are now avid fans of Viking! We went from Amsterdam to Budapest and saw beautiful ...
The cruise was everything we hoped it to be. The only hitch was the low level of water in the river system that had us leave our boat and go 50 - 60 miles on a buss to another boat that was on the other side of the shallow section. The people on that boat took a buss to our boat. We had the same room number on the new ship as our original ship. This was not Vikings fault and I think they handled ...
