Great Cruise!! - Super Crew!!

Review for a Europe - River Cruise Cruise on Viking Tir

The (Viking) Grand European Tour is a Great Adventure. We had a Veranda Suite - the Queen Bed was comfortable (actually seemed a bit large for a Q-size). The size of the 2-room suite was ample - I wouldn't have wanted to be in one of the smaller state-rooms for the 14-day length of this trip. The crew/staff on the ship were excellent - attentive, very courteous, and many of them tried very hard ...

A perfect introductory cruise.

This was the 1st cruise I've been on in which the ship wasn't painted haze gray. There were some hiccups from Viking before we got on-board that were related to my not choosing to involve myself in the 2-day event before departure. Once on-board the Tir, the scheduled boat, the Vali, was not available due to river height, everything was exceptional. The staff called me by name before I could ...

Chose Viking based on so many good reviews from friends. Bad start, 1st night. Watery crème brûlée and flavorless salmon. Food did get better. Many of the staff were friendly and engaging, but too many were not. Tour buses on 2d leg of cruise were old and cramped, compared to the first few buses. Tour guides were amazing. SUGGESTION: Cruise director (who had a pack on during ...

My first Viking Cruise

I chose this cruise from the recommendations of other people that had taken cruises with Viking. I loved the organization that was given to every detail. I would highly recommend this cruise to others. The land part of the cruise to Prague and Paris coupled with the viking longboat made the cruise special. Every meal had a choice that represented a local area that we were visiting. Everyone ...

Don't Do It

If anyone is thinking about a VIKING river cruise please take note, Dont do it !! Consider AMA, we paid £1k less and it was FABULOUS. We have just wasted £7k on the worst cruise ive ever been on. Dont pay extra for a balcony you cannot use it. There is always a boat docked next door and you cannot use it. The cleaner comes into your cabin when you are having Breakfast, for all you will be out all ...

This was our third Viking Cruise, our second River Cruise. Last year we did traveled on a Viking Ship, Venice to Athens. We enjoy the style of Viking Cruises, how informative the excursions are in the different cities and towns. The Captain (Captain Harm) of our ship was the best! He was very friendly, visited the guests, and very knowledgeable. He knew the Rhine inside and out! Our second night ...

Viking France's Finest was my first Viking cruise; first River Cruise; and first time at every one of the ports. The week on the Radgrid was followed by 7 nights on the Viking Heimdal from Lyon to Avignon. My friend and I did the pre and post extensions as well. 3 weeks total for the trip. Viking is very well organized and is a class act. There were Viking reps at the hotels to answer ...

We have reached the age that we can now do things we've always wanted but never had time to. After weeks of researching different itineraries from different lines we chose Viking's "Rhine Getaway" with a Lake Lucerne pre cruise extension. From the time we landed in Zurich until we arrived at the Amsterdam security check for our flight home, Viking hosts were there to help guide us though the ...

This was the first cruise for my wife and I and I couldn’t be any happier with the treatment we received. Our final flight of the day was canceled and after calling the Viking travel emergency hotline we had boarding passes ready and waiting by the time we got to our gate, all the time receiving calls and texts from the Viking agent and the hotel director on the Njord. Even though our final flight ...

Ugh. My mom and I have traveled on Viking several times before COVID, and things have definitely changed. While I realize that the cruise industry was hard hit during the pandemic. things have definitely changed on Viking for the worse. First, there is far less attention to detail - the minimal staff seemed stressed and, at times frustrated that we were there. When we checked in our room smelled ...
