We chose this Viking river cruise because were interested in the history and culture of the Rhineland area of Germany and France. This cruise certainly paid off and exceeded all expectations. There was a variety of shore excursions available and the included excursions at each stop proved to be of high quality and were led by knowledgable and affable guides. The ship was very comfortable and the ...
This was our second Viking River Cruise and as was the first one, it was throughly enjoyed.
Viking’s level of service, food and organization is superior.
From the time we arrived at the destination airport to the time we were dropped off at the airport to go home, a Viking staff member was with us and guiding us.
The ship is clean and well maintained. The food is fresh and delicious and ...
The Viking Gersemi staff was excellent. My husband and I really enjoyed our cruise but we would not bring our young adult children as this type of cruise is not suited for action seeking young people. Viking could add a few simple fitness options to help pass the time while sailing. Something as simple as yoga mats that do not take up much space. The food demonstrations on the boat were short and ...
Our Viking River Cruise on the Viking Gersemi was outstanding! The ship was extremely well designed for river cruising and was both elegant and comfortable. The entire Viking Gersemi staff was exceptional. Our Captain and ship operation Crew were experienced and professional; our Program Director was friendly, knowledgeable, well organized, inclusive and helpful; our Hotel Manager was friendly, ...
We have always heard amazing things about Viking River Cruises. We chose this one because we wanted to visit the beaches of Normandy. As for the cruise itself, Viking is wonderful. The public areas are comfortable and inviting. We often chose to go to the upper deck and just enjoy the breeze as we cruised along the river. There was plenty of room and it never felt crowded. The service was top ...
A Viking River Cruise has been a bucket list vacation for quite sometime. My husband and I wanted to share the experience with my mother and niece so we got a regular stateroom for them and a suite for us so we could have a place to gather the 4 of us. The whole experience was exceptional! The staterooms perfectly appointed (Champagne upon arrival, no less!), fresh fruit daily, beverages restocked ...
I was not sure what to expect on such a small river boat cruise but was very excited to see Amsterdam, several ports in Germany and France. What I did not realize until we were there was how relaxing and organized our journey would be. Viking plans everything perfectly so we had the balance of wonderful ports, adventures and relaxation on the beautiful ship. It was so much better than an ...
Viking offered free airfare as an incentive the year prior. We had done one river cruise in Russia and enjoyed that immensely despite the ship being not quite up to today's standards. Our Program Director, Nancy Van Turnhout was so helpful in securing assistance with wheelchairs to some buses and our renting "Rickshaws" in Cologne, as I am disabled. We would not have been able to enjoy the cruise ...
We chose a shorter cruise (8 days) as we are first timers and were not sure what to expect. My husband had never been to Europe and we chose the Rhine as I thought it would give him a more varied landscape and cultural differences in the 4 countries visited. I get all the brochures in the mail, Tauck, Road Scholar, etc., and chose Viking due to their consistently high ratings.
In short, we had ...
Always wanted to see Europe. According to my sister-in-law, whom had taken the same Viking River Cruise last year in July had great things to say about their trip. Unfortunately they had less water to navigate! We did have a couple of “hiccups “: missing one flight ( Viking personnel helped us reconnect) and missing luggage for three days (finally arrived)! All Viking personnel were always ...
