The trip was beautiful and had us going through 62 locks. It was great seeing how the locks actually worked and each of them a bit different. I did enjoy our ship and the staff was incredible for sure.
Just know if you are used to big ships this is not that. It would be like comparing apples to oranges. The river cruise is a much slower cruise and the times in ports vary. They do have enough ...
The cruise and accommodations were nice.
Viking needs to work on their air travel department and flight policy. Viking can't have a first class cruise and not have first class service from the air department when working on making your air travel for the cruise. We ended up spending hours on the phone with the airlines to make corrections on our flights after no success with the Viking Air ...
We had been looking at the Viking experience for several years before we decided to join the Grand European Tour.
Our trip was an experience we totally enjoyed from start to finish while cruising the Rhine, the Main, the canal and the Danube.
Our Crew was quite attentive during our trip which added to the overall enjoyment of the River cruise.
The castles were amazing, the scenic water ...
This was a covid delayed cruise from 2020. Apparently that was true of a lot of people on the ship. Also, our ship had over 100 people on board who were part of one group. That's pretty impressive considering that the ship holds around 190 passengers. There were no kids on board, which did make a more peaceful trip.
Our cruise was the Amsterdam to Basel. This cruise is exactly what Viking ...
We chose this cruise as we cruised the Danube River the year before. The ports were of historical and scenic interest. We also traveled with friends. Viking takes the best care of their guests which includes cabin, food, drinks, and excursions. I really like that there are included excursions in every port and that every day there is a briefing as to what is to be expected the next day. I really ...
We have reviewed the Viking brochures for years and we were very interested in river cruises. A close friend of mine is a travel agent and she knew we were celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary and she suggested a Viking cruise. She had been on several and recommended the Grand European Tour with the free airfare included in December 2022. So we booked in in December for a June 2023 cruise. ...
We chose the Grand Tour as it was a reunion with old friends. Made the reservations two years ago and counted down the days to our adventure.
The cruising scenery and port visits were all wonderful, but what I didn’t expect was the superior customer service and fine dining experiences on board. I have never experienced customer service better than Viking. From getting off the plane, through the ...
Chose this cruise because I have issues with seasickness so figured a RIVER cruise would be much smoother than an OCEAN one. Sure enough, I could not even tell whether we were docked or moving unless I looked out the window! SUPER SMOOTH. Also chose this particular river cruise because we have been to Germany before and saw a small portion of this area and knew it would be beautiful and ...
The Rhine river boat cruise was so enjoyable! We loved that we could see so many different places in one vacation. It was helpful that all the excursions were planned out for you. We did purchase the extra excursion to the WWll museum. So glad we did!
We met so many people from all over. It was fun to get to know them. We liked that there were less than 200 passengers. It made it very ...
This was our second cruise with Viking and I believe Viking has the best staff/crew of any cruise line. They make the cruise truly enjoyable and always make you feel welcomed. The scenery while cruising the Rhine is beautiful. One thing to consider when taking a river cruise is how good of shape you are in, most of the excursions recquire a lot of walking and over cobblestone streets or, in ...
