Cabin was a great size as was the bathroom. Situated on the Navigation Deck we were surrounded by suites! the bathroom was also a good size. There is no fridge in the room which we found a little unusual. The Lido deck is right above the stateroom and noise can be heard at different times during the day and night. Stateroom was suitable for our needs Read entire member review >>
Surprisingly large feeling. Loads of hanging and drawer storage. Well tended by room steward. Overall fine interior room that suffered from several nights of scratching (not squeaks, but the sounds a squirrel would make trying to escape from an attic!) Off to the front desk at 2 a.m. for some ear plugs. Next day, two tries by maintenance seemed to resolve the problem, but it did return later in the cruise. HAL did do right and tried to compensate us for the sleep deprivation. Read entire member review >>
This cabin was vibrating and shaking so much it had to have been close to the engine room. It was very loud and vibrated/shook so much that it was very uncomfortable even when we were not sailing. We spoke to the front desk and the immediately switched our cabin. Read entire member review >>
Inside cabin was perfect size, and had plenty of storage space. (We even had 4 unused drawers) Shower was perfect, bathroom...not too small with plenty of storage. Bed very comfortable, room was on the cold side, and thermostat didn't seem to work, but I'd rather it be cooler than too warm) This was a great location (deck 9) we'd grab this one again if we were to go back on the Veendam. Room was very clean and room attendants were awesome! Read entire member review >>
Great location! No noise from the neighboring Neptune Lounge, unlike mentioned by the "pros" who have reviewed this stateroom and obviously never have set foot in it. Large, comfortable, nicely decorated. Service was exemplary. The TV station that constantly piped in a view facing out the bow of the ship eliminated any feeling of claustrophobia. Little traffic on this deck, convenient to restaurants. Read entire member review >>
Cabin category I large inside cabin, starboard, aft, cabin 081, Navigation deck 10. Plenty of storage. Bed was very comfortable and roomy. Bathroom space good, not great. Storage good. We did feel the ship rocking in the room much more than on the lower decks. One night the seas were a little rough and you could definitely feel the movement in the room. We had no problems, but if you have any sickness issues chose a room on a lower deck. Read entire member review >>
VERY noisy as of 06/13/2010. Known problem of squeaking inside the stateroom walls. Steward told us they planned on taking the wall apart after we left, so I hope it was fixed. Don't really have much hope. Read entire member review >>
