The destinations were very good despite the rain. We had never been to the Carribean before so did not know what to expect. Excursions organised by the ship were ok if pricey. Entertainment and food were ok but a bit repetitive (3 of the 5 shows were the same as experienced eighteen months earlier). Remember to take an umbrella or lightweight waterproof as you may well get the full rain forest ...
I love this ship, the staff are lovely, the ship is beautiful. there's lots of choice food and drinks. the only things i didn't like is the 2 jacuzzi's in the indoor pool, they never worked av been on 2 cruises with discovery, and each cruise i've not seen them work yet. and i just wish when you travel to a colder place like Norway or Russia the pools were heated, you pay all that money and can't ...
This was our first cruise and we were a bit worried what to expect. However we had an amazing time, From embarkation with the welcome and the organisation at Gatwick airport we thought it was excellent. The ship was immaculate, we had upgraded to a suite on deck 8 which was fab and we had a lovely girl looking after us every day cleaning our room, ironed clothes for us and had chocolates on our ...
We chose this cruise for our honeymoon and were not disappointed.
The ship was well appointed and in good condition throughout. Everywhere was immaculate and the cleaning was very thorough.
We had a balcony cabin in deck 6. Not massive but adequate with plenty of storage and hanging space. The bathroom was compact like most are and functional. The cabin was well soundproof and the air con ...
We chose this cruise because of the itinerary lots of islands and only one sea day, and as we had never ventured on a Marella (Thomsons ) ship before I researched it on here and found that the Discovery was formerly a Royal Caribbean ship, so was quite sure it would be a lovely ship. I was right! it wasn't too small (yes I know some people hate big ships but we like them ) and there was ...
We chose this cruise as a way of exploring the beautiful islands of the Caribbean and they really were wonderful, thinking that a cruise would be the ideal way to relax and wind down from our stressful working lives - HOW WRONG WE WERE!
First the good points - The crew. The staff were incredible, so engaging, friendly and helpful, they made you feel like long lost friends from the moment you ...
12th cruise, first time on a TUI ship. Excellent itinerary. Had to wait on the runway for 95 mins as the plane wings had to be de-iced. No drinks were offered, a very poor show.
Overall the cruise was fantastic with no major complaints
. We had most of our evening meals at Gallery or Gallery 47. We always went at around 6-6:30 never queued and only once there was no room at the Gallery, so ...
This was our 13th cruise on our 12th ship. Initially worried as our worst two cruises have been on the dream nasty ship. If dream was bad discovery was at the other end of the spectrum ie excellent. Flew out of Birmingham premium and it was very good and comfortable. We were on the first bus to the ship; so sailed through registration and onto the ship where we dumped our hand luggage and ...
This Cruise was chosen by friends who have been on many cruises. We have never been on one so to us it was a whole new experience.
From start to finish the experience was brilliant.
The highlights were the Restaurant 47 and the other speciality Restaurants. The meals in these are just out of this world and where supplements were paid it was worth every single penny.
At 47 we sat at Table ...
6 islands cruise.
We chose this cruise as initially all 6 islands were ones we hadn't visited. Unfortunately,3 had to be changed prior to departure but at least we didn't end up with our dreaded "days at sea"
Overall an excellent week. Overwhelmingly, staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. Typically- our cabin stewardess Serina was superb.
Food was excellent in all the ...
