Silversea has always been seen as the pinnacle of cruising. As it's branded as "ultra-luxury" we've waited a long time to be able to sail and with great anticipation. We found this amazing 7 night Greek Isles & Turkey itinerary and had to book it right away. We did our research, read reviews, joined even joined the informal group on Facebook to read about what to expect. It all sounded so amazing: ...
I chose this cruise because the 7 day itinerary fitted in with a trip to Vancouver, Alaska and Seattle of nearly 4 weeks. And it went to 4 ports, whereas the premium lines only went to 3 ports in 7 days. And it had a lot fewer people, which is a great bonus. We booked in 2018 for 2020 (postponed to 2022) so we paid probably half of what it would have cost this year.
This was our first ocean ...
Embarkation very chaotic
The room is very nice but the bed is small
Room staff very good
Restaurant - staff generally poor and not very helpful
-maitre D of the main restaurant is non existent
-food quality is hit and miss and mostly miss. not the same as Oceania or Regent
- the communication system between kitchen ...
This was a 15-night cruise from Athens to Athens, via Istanbul. (Somehow, CruiseCritic did not list that as an option.) We were originally booked on a 15-night cruise from Athens to the Black Sea via Istanbul, but the itinerary was changed due to the war in Ukraine. (Thanks, Russia...) And then Silversea split it into two legs -- with most of the passengers being on the full 15 nights, but ...
Our tenth cruise on Silversea and first since COVID was overall a very good experience.
Embarkation was outside on a very windy ground level pier. First your COVID test results are checked, then a form to fill out, hopefully without it blowing away, then a quick check by the ship's doctor of vaccination cards, then actual check in to exchange passports for keys. Somehow in all this they ...
We chose this cruise as a 1 country short break to mitigate travel risks associated with Covid
Boarding was chaotic in Reykjavik as taxi drop off was at a crew reception area in a portacabin with no Rest rooms or refreshments
At 2pm a Silversea representative arrived with a nurse - documents were hurriedly collected including the required PCR results and the nurse checked for pyrexia. There ...
We had high expectations sailing on Silver Seas for the first time. After 30+ cruises we were finally giving them a try.
Unfortunately embarkation was total chaos, with no one from Silver Seas present outside, lines of people with no idea what to do, poor start.....
The Silver Whisper is showing its age. Cabin design not the greatest with makeup vanity being at the end of the bed, thus when ...
Chose this cruise because it circumnavigated Iceland and wanted a high-end cruise line. What I got was mediocre at best. Before boarding, the airport transfer brought us to the wrong place. Then we were brought to the correct location to have our temperatures checked, except after standing for 45 minutes in a room crowded with 100 people, no bathrooms, and no seating, we found out that the ...
The cruise just prior to ours was apparently the cruise from hell (see previous reviews) with ship breakdown, missed ports and time delays. Thankfully everything seemed to be corrected for our departure. Other than today's typical airline horror stories, which we just barely missed, we arrived in Vancouver at 4:30 in the morning, of departure day. Therefore, our free day in the departure city ...
I am a long time Silversea passenger and have sailed on almost all of their boats including two previous trips on the Muse.
While the shore excursion team, housekeeping staff, our butler, waitstaff etc were all excellent and went above and beyond my expectations to make our vacation wonderful, the food quality and restaurant options were very poor on this trip. This was my third cruise since ...
