This ship is great for the small ship cruiser. The Captain is very knowledgeable and is highly visible. The crew is welcoming and friendly. I chose this cruise because I hadn't been to the western Caribbean in several years and was travelling with a friend who had never been there.
Embarkation and disembarkation were quick and smooth.
Royal cancelled our booking after it had been paid in full and in a scramble to get rebooked we ended up in a smaller cabin on deck 3 instead of 8.

We chose this cruise because it was a good value and it was only one hour from home so very easy to take. It was certainly worth the $$ but not a luxury cruise or an unusual itinerary. I chose the cruise because I had never embarked from Tampa Port. Unfortunately, there were fog issues and we were delayed in our departure and daylight was limited. I wish I would have asked for a seat by the window in the dining room but it was an after thought.

We drove to the port and parked with Parking Doctors for $42 for 4 days. The shuttle provided by the company took us to port, which was 2 minutes away. This was my first Royal Caribbean cruise, as previous were Carnival. The ship was very nicely laid out, but elevators at all times took forever for some reason. We sailed on the Brilliance of the Seas in January, 2018 from Tampa to Cozumel. Key West was supposed to be one of the stops, but, according to Royal Caribbean (“RCL”), the hurricane had done enough damage to Key West to render stopping there undesirable if not impossible.
