Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Brilliance of the Seas

I will start with the fact that I’m very easy to please when traveling. As long as things are clean, safe, and functional, I’m usually happy camper. This cruise met those exoections, however, there were some key annoyances you should know before you book this. Embarkation was fine. We were one of first groups to arrive. We made it through fairly quickly. Pros: Staff was very friendly. ...

We sailed on this ship 2 years ago with our 3 sons. This time we sailed with our 15 and 18 year olds only because the older one is in college and had a different Spring Break. We drove down from Greenville, SC on Friday, spending the night north of Orlando in Lake Mary. It was an easy drive over to Tampa on Saturday morning. My in-laws also cruised with us on this trip. They drove ...

Being we were part of 8 people (Bruni, Coyle, Bergen) on this cruise, of which I set up and none of us were advised of this being a family cruise filled with 779 children, teenagers and spring breakers! They monopolized all the pools, saunas, play areas, etc. One day one teenager broke a glass at the solarium pool , cut themselves, blood in the pool and had to be drained, cleaned, scrubbed, etc. ...

13 women, mostly over 60, just wanted to get away for a few days, so we booked this 5-nighter out of Tampa. Little did we know that there would be 780 passengers under age 12, plus a bunch of teens. Aside from that, it was very enjoyable. I am used to cruising Azamara and Oceania, so I had few expectations. The food was very good. The entertainment was excellent (at a time when Azamara did ...

Avoid Brilliance of the Seas

Royal Caribbean normally provides exemplary service, excursions, and value for your dollar. This cruise did provide excellent excursions. The cruise experience itself over promised and under delivered. I would never sail the Brilliance of the Seas again. The ship is old. Most of the equipment is showing its age. The pool tables and sticks were broken. Mini golf needs a face lift, the shops ...

Closer to home than other ports. About 2 hours drive from home. Embarkation was quick & went smoothly. Food was very good except the bread that was hard in Edelweiss. Complained about it, but it's the same as the next few days. Otherwise the dining crew were very nice, attentive & friendly. Same as the crew in Windjammer buffet & cafe areas in the the ship. Enjoyed the shows. Excellent ...

Having taken 8 previous cruises I consider myself fairly well experienced at cruising. Four of our cruises have now been with Royal Caribbean or their sister cruise line, Celebrity. Our last cruise with Royal Caribbean was about 10 years ago and overall I found that this particular cruising experience was not as good as our previous cruises. The overall crew service was not up to RC's usual ...

Choose this cruise because of work vacation time. Didn't realize it would be during Easter. big mistake. Way to many children on this cruise. It was miserable. The stops were great - really enjoyed them all. The dining time of 8:00 pm isn't doable. Tried to change it to earlier with no avail. The wait staff and bar staff were awesome. Ship smelled awful for most of the cruise. The ...

We chose the cruise based on price, timing, and ports. We wanted a smaller ship with less crowds. We wanted plenty of places to visit and the dates were perfectly matched with our kids spring break. The food was great! We ate at the Windjammer and the Main Dining Room. Both places had fantastic food choices. The wait staff were very sweet and helpful. They were always smiling and greeting us, which ...

We live in Tampa so this was an easy port for us to travel out of, port of tampa is easy to go through. The ports of call was good and we had not gone to Key west before and Belize and Costa Maya. Ship was very clean and comfortable, staff was very attentive. Food was good, took advantage of booking at Chops, which was worth it. Did the wine tasting on the last day of cruising, enjoyed and ...
