We were on the ship as part of the Park West VIP program. Our previous cruise ships were in the 2200-3300 passenger range or smaller, so this was a departure in size, over 50% larger than our previous cruises. For the most part the ship accommodates the number of passengers well but they didn't increase the number or size of the bars and lounges enough to take the increased passenger load into ...
Booked this cruise because of the itinerary. I planned on visiting friends in both Barbados and Tobago, which I did. The only problem with the itinerary is the San Juan departure port which is cumbersome to get to. The Jewel although one of RCI's older ships was clean and well maintained and really doesn't show her age. Some aspects like the tiny pools and small windjammer buffet do harken to ...
We are Diamond Club status and have been on this ship 9 times.
Shows have all been the same since the ship first sailed years ago.
The show attendance was never to capacity
The stateroom was never vacuumed in the 11 night cruise and we noticed the same dirt on the floor since we first got in the cabin.
You now pay extra for I Fly and North Star which use to be free which results in ...
We cruised with family - three couples. We loved the ship - our third time on Anthem! The good things: lots of activities and things to do on the ship: pickle ball, bumper cars, roller skating! Escape Room, i Fly, and the Northstar! The entertainment is first rate: Iconic band was extraordinary - there was not one song played that did not sound like the original artist - and they have nice ...
Very disappointed, why 5 watch shops, ship not pretty as other royal ships, no good shows/entertainment, paying customers very rude, I will try different cruise line next year. Staff friendly. All shops same thing. Not enough of different things to drink. People in customs even rude. Nice and organized debarking. Casino very small and if you like quick hit games then that’s the casino for you. ...
This was a great trip. The Jewel is one of the smaller ships but it was perfect for this intinerary because it was so port-heavy. I wouldn't reccomend getting the drink package on this one. It seems like a great idea at first but if you plan to leave the ship every day to visit the islands, it would be more economical to just buy your drinks individually.
We chose this cruise because we've ...
Long-time RCL cruisers. First AND LAST time we let them choose our room (we were just going along with our group).
I should have known as soon as I opened the first drawer on the chipped dresser and the front of it fell off! Had to pound it back together.
Our veranda was a rusty mess! In need of paint but not on the floor and table that was splattered with old paint. We had soot rain down ...
I am a D+ on RCL, so have really enjoyed them in the past. They now have gone paperless and have an app that you must use. It often takes 2 or 3 tries to get in. Why not perfect the app before launching it? The wifi is now the same way. You often have to try several times to log on. This is the first year that i have had poor wifi reception on a RCL ship.
They have very few big shows as in the ...
The spa was the best part of this historic boat. Go to the spa and ask for Ivy to give you a massage. Very Good service in the spa. I would recommend buying a spa package as soon as you get on board.
The staff were very friendly aas well all over the boat. And the rooms were clean. The entertainment was not good. The singers were out of tune. They did have a good tango entertainment night. ...
This will be the first and last time we cruise with Royal Caribean in any capacity. The food was all around pretty terrible, every soda machine except for 1 was broken during our first 5 days, the remaining that did work had very limited options as all diet options were sold out after day 2. You would think a cruise ship of this size would have a repair man so customers aren't all waiting 30 ...
