This was my second cruise with RCI after my first on Quantum last December.
I have been cruising since the mid-60s and have been fortunate to have completed over fifty trips
on over twenty different cruise lines
With the arrival in Australia of the two Quantum class ships I thought it was time to give RCI a go.
It has been an interesting experience but something I don't see myself ...
We were told as we boarded that Mystery Island cancelled because they suspected high winds?? No wind all cruise.
Why they couldn't organise another island visit in area at beginning or end of cruise is a mystery as it was 10 nights and all other cruises to same ports are 8 nights. Well we spent one day and night going up and down the coast outside Noumea ( wasn't that exciting - not). No ...
Royal Carribean cancelled our first cruise to the South Pacific. We had already planned and booked the remainder of our trip to Australia and New Zealand and were forced into choosing this cruise. We were very disappointed with the options available but had to choose another cruise within a small window as RC WOULD NOT REFUND our deposit, even though they were the ones who repositioned the ship ...
We chose ovation of seas for convenience to sail off from Sydney. This is our first cruise experience. Hats off to the Staff , they were dedicated and smiling ! Balcony rooms are reasonable. The activities are very good. Not many movies though. Screening movies in the pool deck is a waste of time. Too noisy. We enjoyed everything on board the cruise except food. We are vegetarians. The food was ...
Our cabin was a balcony cabin and on entering it looked neat and tidy but as we started unpacking we noticed it was actually filthy. There was a sticker on the door saying our cabin had been through enhanced cleaning which was a blatant lie. Surfaces like the cupboard doors, drawers and handles were covered in oily hand marks and finger prints, they had not been wiped at all. Dust was all over the ...
We booked this holiday a year ago. We booked five cabins all balcony. I have been on 10 + cruises but first time with Royal Caribbean. The food was hospital food absolutely terrible. The buffet at lunch never changed, if you a vegetarian or have any dietary requirements do not go on this ship unless you want to lose weight. We never got to go on the bumper cars rollerskating or rock wall because ...
After a break of seven years i thought i would give cruising a go again with so many world class large passenger ships visiting brisbane, what could go wrong. First the boarding was handled very well with minimum delay. The cabin was very good except for a continual smell of methane gas escaping from the overflow in the bathroom. After many peaceful nights cruising in the past the continual ...
This cruise was only 2 weeks after one I did on this ship to Hobart and Sydney, so I learned a few more details, but had to watch the same old shows basically.
Last cruise was 4 star, this one I give a 3 star.
First we find the new cruise director who just boarded the ship had covid ( or sniffles as they call it ) so he was locked up for first 5 days. Deputy director did a good job in his ...
The trip would be interesting because we had not been on one of the bigger RC ships to date and also it would be a sample of how Vanuatu and New Caledonia were shaping up after the over two years with no cruise passengers and their money.
Things were ominous at Sydney Terminal when we were handed a sheet of paper advising that Mystery Island was cancelled because of wharf repairs. The rumour ...
We chose this cruise, as it was the first time that I was embarking on trip from my home port.
No need to fly to a destination, no need to worry about weight limits or currency exchanges. I was going to depart Sydney on the harbour and through Sydney heads at sunset, beautiful. That's where the vision ended.
The entertainment on board was virtually non existent as we were appointed ...
