Very Disappointing

Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Explorer of the Seas

This was a 21 night cruise from Seattle to Sydney Australia. Our previous cruises were all on Princess so this was our first experience with RC. The ship was in excellent condition and the staff was friendly with great emphasis on washing your hands. However, the food was not good. In 21 days we ate at every outlet and struggled to find a "good" meal. Speciality dining was the only option that ...

Disappointing Royal Caribbean Experience

First, let me say, I loved the itinerary for this cruise - 21 nights across the Pacific from Seattle to Sydney. Embarkation (and disembarkation) went very smoothly, though we were surprised there was no welcome aboard glass of champagne. This was a minor change from the previous cruises we'd taken on Celebrity (a sister company), but was just the beginning of a slew of disappointments in the ...

This cruise was a long time in the planning and didn't disappoint. After spending 2 weeks in Canada and 5 nights in Hawaii, this was the perfect way to return home to Sydney calling at Pappete, Moorea, Bora Bora, Wellington and Picton. Arrived at the Honolulu cruise terminal around 11.00am and although departure wasn't due until 10.00pm (actual 2.00am) we were immediately allowed to board and ...

We spent one week in Waikiki before our cruise back to Australia. We had a great time. Boarding the ship was super easy. Never been easier in fact. I’m a celiac so I was worried about my food choices but the dining room team looked after me. I don’t think there were as many choices in the windjammers. Coffee has improved a little. Room attendant was amazing as always. I don’t think there was ...

had previously cruises NZ with Radiance and found the cabin clean, food great and entertainment sufficiently good to balance out the cruise. We had any time dining but found the windjammer food different menus good to suit our taste and we had the drinks package so good morning coffee, fresh juice and cocktails by the pool were all good. The ship was late leaving Hawaii but the sailing was ...

We chose this cruise because of the destinations and to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary. We had an amazing time! The ports of call were incredible. We love cruising and enjoyed 23 nights on this Transpacific cruise. The ship size is perfect....love the Promenade. MELBOURNE, NEW ZEALAND NORTH ISLAND, SYDNEY, TRANSPACIFIC & SEATTLE Explorer of the Seas cruise is half way down this review On March 27 we left for the Brunswick, Georgia Airport and our trip down under returning in part with a transpacific cruise to Seattle. We arrived in Melbourne on the morning of March 29 after four flights and over 35 hours of travel. Delta would not allow us to ...

About the Reviewer: I’m a mid-30s male who cruised solo. I used the Explorer of the Seas as a vehicle to leisurely get home after intense touring in Australia and New Zealand. This was supposed to be my second non-charter Royal Caribbean sailing but my first one on the Radiance to go around New Zealand was cancelled (April 6 departure). Overall, this was my fourth Royal Caribbean cruise with the ...

Nice ship but: Overcrowded, Badly refurbished and awful Childcare

The ship was nice. We have sailed on her Sister the Navigator and we love this class of ship. However the refit in areas wasn't so great. The entertainment was shockingly awful in the theater however the Ice show in Studio B was simply incredible! The cabin was fantastic I couldn't have asked for more and our steward was one of the nicest men you could ever wish to meet. The Dining was fantastic ...

We frequently visit family in Australia and wanted to combine it with something different, and this cruise fitted in well with our timings. We know Sydney very well and it was nice to board a cruise there. Embarkation at Circular Quay could have been a tad better organised, at least outside the terminal. When there are 3500 passengers all wanting to get on board the scrum for getting rid of ...
