Third world company disguised as flagship cruise company

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Ovation of the Seas

We booked this cruise about 8 months before the sailing through a third party travel agency in our country (we are from Mexico) and we were told by the agent that Royal had this program called Best Price Guarantee that basically guaranteed some kind of refund if you found the trip at a lower price after you booked. A few months after prices started to go down a lot, almost half of what we paid ...

Alaska was a bucket list with the scenery and to hopefully see whales. Due to receiving 2 text and an email warning not to arrive early we arrived at 11:15 for an 11:30 boarding. The embarkation was chaotic and definitely not as smooth as it is in Miami. It seemed there was one line but no communication where it began or ended or where to drop luggage. I had the donning package so we ate in the ...

So I wanted to write this review because I hate to pay good money for a vacation and get treated so poorly. We sailed (Group of 10) on the ovation to Alaska. There were a large number of issues that I have never had to deal with. - Toilet paper was provided on day 3. - Bars were low on liquor (there were multiple bars that just didn't have certain drinks.) -The SPA was not ready to ...

We booked a Royal Caribbean Cruise Ovation of the Seas, under the condition to be granted a medical exemption to sail to one out of ten guests in our group. We do know the possibilities of a negative response, we do not expect from Royal to keep us waiting until 3 days before sailing to let us know, under the presumption that their are reviewing the documentation presented to them and will let us ...

Impacted by weather

I chose this cruise specifically for the Flowrider and the Ripcord by iFly. Some things you should be aware of: in the mornings, if the weather is a bit too chilly, they will not open the Flowrider. I thought it was warm enough, but the crew members would have to be out there all morning in wet clothes, so that's understandable. However, they won't extend the operating hours in the afternoon to ...

I like the Ovation, but seems the team needs to gel better. Not their best showing.

This was our third cruise back after the Covid year. We were on the Carnival Elation in October, and Harmony of the Seas in December. We chose this cruise because we could get back on board and used the Next Cruise program on the Harmony. Seems like Royal was giving away cruises late last year, (at least to us). We are Vaxed, and boosted, and the price was great. So, we jumped on the Alaska ...

COVID!!

We love traveling with Royal Caribbean but this was my mother and my worst cruise ever! Embarkation was a joke. Staff and customs started panicking because there were still 2 hours of people trying to get on the ship causing 2 hours behind leaving We were later told by a senior officer ship was only at 80% capacity meaning they were so short staffed. Those who were on the ship were young, ...

From check-in to disembarkation - RCCL Ovation is a great vacation that you won't forget. Grateful for the onboard covid measures as the staff constantly wearing masks, cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting. Lots of changes including how to "buffet' in the Windjammer but it works with staff serving. I commend RCCL & Ovation crew for dedicating their work to making a healthy & happy getaway ...

Good Cruise but Lost Luggage

Overall cruise was good. Embarkation was the smoothest that we have experienced; it took only a few minutes. Junior suite was spacious and cabin attendant was excellent. Dining was good. Had dinner in the main dining room most nights. Immediately after boarding, made reservations for the Coastal Kitchen for two nights; when we showed up somehow the reservation had been lost. We were ...

Somewhat disappointing

Food Unless you purchase a beverage plan, complimentary drink options are water or hot tea, and juices at a few places. Unless you're going to have 2-3 cocktails (around $10-17 each) a day, the beverage plan is a waste of money. The soda only (no booze) plan is around $9/day. Instead, bring a dozen sodas on board with you. When you're in Ketchikan, go to the drugstore (very close to the dock) ...
