Having traveled many times on RCCL in the Caribbean, we felt we had a good knowledge of what to expect on this cruise and the ship. Although the ship and ships staff is as good as any other of the RCCL fleet, we were disappointed on a variety of aspects.

Great ports of call, however excursions fail to interest.
Service in food, drink and stateroom preparation are excellent, but rest of ship staff (front desk, loyalty, security, and excursions) are disinterested, unaccommodating, and quick to try to push issues to other departments.

I was overwhelmed with the service, cleanliness, safety regulation and checking (screening) when entering/exiting the ship, the beauty of the ship with so many possibilities, design, etc.

We are first time cruises, so maybe not the right ones to judge, however I felt we had really hit it lucky. Jewel is not too big or too small. The ship is spotless and almost all the staff are friendly and helpful.

We sailed the Jewel of the seas as being our first cruise with Royal Caribbean. Previously, last year we sailed on MSC Meraviglia, then the 4th largest liner in the world, therefore Jewel of the seas is Much Smaller. That meant initially we didn’t have high expectations.
