Great experience but could have been better

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Jewel of the Seas

This was our first cruise and we choose RC based on the reviews of suitability for young families. Overall we had a great time but felt that for the cost it wasn't worthwhile and probably won't do a cruise again. Preboarding the customer service with RC was terrible. The website for booking dining etc was all geared around people who knew how cruises work. As first timers it wasn't clear about ...

Excursions made up for mediocre cruise ship

This was our fifth cruise (2 princess and 3 Royal Caribbean) and our others have been in Alaska and Caribbean. We selected this ship only for the itinerary and the excursions were certainly worth every penny. Perfect Europe experience. The tour guides were excellent and allowed us to maneuver through crowds in Rome and Barcelona that we never could have managed as quickly on our own. You might ...

I really like the double suit experience, we had a lot of privileges in the concierge, cocktails and in the theater seating. What i really enjoyed is the lunch with the officer at the cruise. It was an amazing experience talking and sharing their day to day work. The ports and shore excursions are amazing specially if you take them with the cruise. it's easier they drive you to the center and back ...

Great Ports, Warm-Hearted Ship

6th cruise with family, 3rd with RC. We tend to choose older, smaller ships as we don't need the bells and whistles, and Jewel was perfect. The crew have won awards for customer service and it is they that made the holiday. The rooms, dining and ship were exactly as I had expected, so to specifics: PORTS port heavy with 5 cities in 7 days but all were easy to do. In Cannes we took the ferry ...

Amazing staff; poor cruise

As i lay in my stateroom ready to go to sleep, for the fourth night running I can hear the immense noise of the theatre below me. Whenever there is a theatre performance on this ship, we can hear it in our room as if we are there, the bass shakes our beds and we can hear every word. We are on deck 7. The theatre is deck 6. The performances dont end until around 1am some nights. The only thing i ...

Just WOW!!! Everything about this ship is amazing, where do I start. Booked a 7 night med cruise with my partner, and our best friends and their 2 teens joined us. We boarded in Rome (not the main embarkation port of Barcelona). TOP TIP, if you ever get this chance take it, no delays, no queues, on the ship 10 mins after arriving at the dock, and similar when leaving!! The ship is ...

We had an incredible time on the Symphony. As you would expect, it’s gorgeous, spacious and immaculate. There’s tons of entertainment every where you look and the staff was knowledgeable, responsive, and warm. We are a family of 4, traveling with a family of 3. Kids are boys, 15, 14 and 9. For this cruise, we chose an adjoining balcony, so our boys had their own room. (It’s not as ...

Attention was excellent. Everybody on cruise was kind and willing to help. Cabin 9610 with balcony was good for our family of 4 (two teenagers) And we always had a good overview of the ports/cities from that side of the ship. Dining in the Windjammer was a good experience: good food and excellent attention. Entertainment activities were very good and for all ages. We only bought the Cruise’s tour ...

AMAZING FOOD AND SERVICE

Our waiters in the Tides dining room, Igede and Kenad were exceptional. The service was spot-on; they are funny and entertaining. With the combination of excellent food and superior service the Tides dining experience was the highlight of our cruise. Mona and the other employees at Cafe Lattitudes were great; after the first order she remembered our names and orders, and not just our entire family ...

ARRIVAL We arrived in Civittavechia Port with our own car. Parking Nord is located few steps from the check-in tent. It's very convenient, reasonably priced (around 75 EUR per week), very safe (locked when not operating), yet has to be reserved in advance at www.portmobility.it CHECK-IN If you have papers filled out via internet, check-in is super quick and stressless. SHIP Nice ...
