My sister booked a cruise and I decided to join her. The itinerary was really great and we enjoyed all of the ports. The staff are probably not treated all that well by the employer as some were very good and many were not...rushed, inefficient, and likely not trained. Our cabin steward was fantastic. I had only been on smaller cruise lines before (Azamara and Viking ocean cruises) and would ...
This was our chance to cruise with the whole family. We went with our daughter, our son and his wife and also our two grandchildren. We hadn't cruised to most of the ports before and we particularly looked forward to Dubrovnik and Santorini. As it happens, Mykonos and Split were were well worth a visit too;
Dubrovnik: It is a wonderful place with great atmosphere, incredible architecture, and ...
Voyager Review September 18-25, 2022 - NewEngland/Canada
PRE-CRUISE
This would be our first New England/Canada cruise. We booked about 2 months out with a great price on an inside cabin 8441. Although we cruise frequently with various cruiselines, this was only our 2nd Royal Caribbean cruise, the last being 20 years ago. This was prior to recent changes, so we were still required to have ...
We chose this cruise for access to glaciers and we're not disappointed in this regard. But we had really hoped to learn more about Alaska: its native culture, industry, and current issues and were disappointed that Royal Caribbean had nothing at all on board, either live or on the tv, for us to learn more. Partly because of the weather, the ping pong table, pickleball court, and rock climbing wall ...
I really wanted to like RC. I really did. But several things have clinched the fact that I won’t cruise with them again. Firstly, their nickel-and-diming and high prices. ATM fee was a ridiculous 6.50. Alcoholic drinks came out to $15+ after taxes and mandatory gratuity. A soda cost over $4. And let’s not even mention the paid restaurants on board… most are $65 per person for dinner. Come on. It ...
I chose the cruise along with my husband and two more family members as we wanted to visit the ABC islands. We had been previously but my family members had not. We also found this cruise to be exceptional value and we had sailed with and enjoyed Royal Caribbean previously.
After booking I found several negative reviews on this site and actually considered cancelling the cruise!! Thankfully I ...
Forget spending the big bucks for the Owner's Suite unless you are ready to do your own maintenance in this suite (1300). Yes it is nice and spacious. That email you get from the concierge is for show only. Do not expect to get what you ask for. And you will be very lucky if anyone answers the phone. Don't open the sheers as the screws will come out of the railing. The TV, well - you better ...
Needed to get away for a few days. This seemed like a good choice as the port was only 2 1/2 away and it was a short 4 night break. In all fairness to RCL I knew it was a “family oriented cruise line” but I foolishly believed that children would be in school this early in the school year. Boy was I wrong! I would estimate that there were at 500-700 screaming, crying, running, jumping, coughing ...
We sailed on the Freedom of the Seas from Sept 12 - 16 to the Bahamas. We picked this ship because of the Ice rink on board.
Embarkation:
Super easy! We were suite passengers and also Key passengers so we were escorted to the suite lounge for check-in and waiting. We were on the boat by 11. They said that lunch started at 11, but it didn't start until 12, and our room wasn't ready until ...
We had a very good time on the cruise but with limitations. This is an older smaller ship and you can't expect all the bells and whistles on the bigger newer ships. The service by the staff was excellent although you could tell they were short staffed in the lounges.
Our cabin was a jr suite and was fine. It had a nice sitting area with lots of storage space and a decent sized bathroom. We had ...
