Our first sign that something was amiss was before we even arrived. As we were driving up to the boat, we saw a rusty, grimey mess near the upper portions of the back of the ship. Admittedly, this is on the uppermost floors nearer the smoke stacks, but this was bad even for that location and everyone remarked on it.

I chose this cruise because it was leaving from Tampa and because of itinerary.
Serenade of the Seas needs to be dry docked and refurbished! The staterooms are OLD and worn out.
No shampoo or bars of soap for shower. Only liquid soap dispenser marked Shampoo AND Body Wash
No Wifi except for the Royal Caribbean app and even that was inconsistent.

The primary reason that I give RC a low rating is that the ship was full of children. It seemed as if the ship was 50% children, 20% their parents with strollers for each child, and 20% young adults and 10% older adults, some with wheelchairs.

Embarkation was very smooth and fast in Miami. We stayed in the Courtyard by the airport and were picked up by our Uber at 10:05 am and on the ship by 11:20 am. That easy.

Our embarkation was a disaster, waited in line for 95 min. They were not enforcing checkin times. Line was much longer for others. Food quality has declined significantly, sure don’t like new menus in MDR. Forcing guest to eat in specialty restaurants. They are still very good. Mama Mia was excellent best show at sea.
