Allure
Very good service in the main dining room (we did anytime dining). While the food varied from good to very good, my overall impression was it was under seasoned and pretty bland (no, ol not a smoker). The specialty restaurants were very good and 150 Park was excellent. I was surprised there was nowhere to grab a burger etc while hanging out by the pools. Hint: The adults only Solarium is ...
Our last cruise with royal was in 2016 and was the reason we chose to sail with them again. It was a nightmare experience. The shower was broken and we reported it to guest services. They told us maintenance would be by to fix it. Day 2 maintenance had not been by so we went back to guest services. This repeated until day 5 of our 7 day cruise! 5 days without a working shower, no apology or ...
I could sit here for hours telling you all about the disaster of a cruise we just came off yesterday but I have a flight home to catch.
Main issues;
FOOD IS INEDIBLE AND NOT SAFE IN MOST AREAS--we watched some very unsafe food practices in the windjammer--most food here is constantly cold and the choice is shocking--believe us!!!
MDR is so poor with over hot held food that has been ...
We have been on 10+ cruises with Royal Caribbean. We're experienced salty and seasoned cruisers. In the last year we've been on the largest ship RCL has the Wonder of the Seas to the smallest ship Grandeur of the Seas. The Brilliance of the Seas falls right in the middle of the the two ships mentioned above. We really liked the ship!
The ship is a little dated but it has good bones. It didn't ...
This was to be another fantastic family cruise - post COVID crap and back together celebrating. What a bomb. Our first cruise (circa 2001 - we have been on 10 cruises since) was on Navigator - I still remember being offered a Pina Colada the minute we hit the entry hall on the ship - "you are on vacation mon .... we've been waiting for you!" Well, this is a fond memory never to be had again. All ...
My husband and I chose this 10 day cruise because of the ports. We had not been to several of them even though we have cruised the Caribbean about 50 times.
EMABRKATION: Very fast and efficient.
ROOM: You use to have access to your room by 1pm but we were told it would be 2pm----it was 3pm before we had access. RCCL only offers room cleaning once a day - morning or evening - which we ...
The Caribbean ports were all as expected. We arrived on time each day and the ship was quickly made ready for us to disembark.
The ship in general is old and tired. Some carpeting is badly in need of a change, especially by some of the rooms. Some hallways had sewage smell which detracted from the experience.
The ship is generally understaffed. Meal service was slow because the staff ...
See below for comments on the music. We chose this cruise to visit Panama and Columbia as well as the typical Costa Maya, Belize, and Cozumel. The welcome aboard in the "Centrum" was Horrible, long lines accompanied with very loud Disco type music and irrelevant announcements being made over the loudspeaker. We waited in the overcrowded "windjammer" buffet for our rooms to be released. ...
This was a first time cruise for my husband and I. We have done many all inclusive and pay as you go vacations but we wanted to try something different.
We were both concerned about sea sickness and feeling trapped on a boat however to our surprise the Oasis of the seas is a floating city that at times you would never know it’s a boat!
Embarking was so easy. It went very smoothly we ...
After previous cruising on Oasis we were excited to book Allure when it was moved to Galveston near us! This was our first cruise following the Covid pandemic, and were anxious to discover if cruising had changed.
Unfortunately we discovered cruising was another victim of Covid.
There were some highlights….The Aqua Show, the Comedy Club, The Diamond Lounge….the ceremony honoring ...
