Overcrowding of the Seas

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Anthem of the Seas

Have been on 6 cruises, 5 with RCC. This being the second departing from the USA. Cape Liberty was expensive to get to by taxi from Manhatten, NCL cruises depart much closer to mid-town. Had two large interior cabins with virtual balcony, trading the real balcony for more cabin room, especially with so many days at sea it seemed sensible. Both main dining rooms pretty crowded by 6pm, with tables ...

Anthem of the Seas July 12 2018 I am a Diamond member on Royal and am writing this review as a long time cruiser. The ship is absolutely gorgeous the crew keep her spotless and she really has unique charm. That being said the ship IS CROWDED. Keep in mind we were sailing during peak summer vacation time. I was shocked because the Oasis class never felt remotely crowded compared to this. ...

Great cruise with exceptionally helpful and friendly staff

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Anthem of the Seas

Cruise was great, exceptionally high standards of cleanliness, lots of things to do in day and night. Food was varied and plentiful. The staff were friendly, always happy to have a chat and help with whatever you need. Boarding was easy and very fast, we booked to board at 11.30am so we could make the most of it. Disembarkment was a different story. Long queues, may be better to take your ...

It’s all about the spending

My husband booked this cruise as a surprise anniversary gift. Little did he know that royal must be one of the most money hungry cruise line companies there are. Between beverage packages, meal packages, and the closure of all the pools on the last day at sea, everything Is about getting you to spend more money. Every issue I had was met with a reason why the cruise line is not in control of ...

Boring Ship

Bermuda is an easy stop out of the tri-State area and did not require us to fly our family. I also liked the idea of having an overnight stop, didn’t want to worry about what time we had to get back on the ship. Unfortunately for us, the weather was unusually cloudy/rainy and the beach was not as enjoyable as we would have liked. The ship is not very child friendly and we sailed with 4 ...

Below average food, service, and experience

Family reunion with most members from the NJ area. Local access a major consideration. Bayonne, NJ embarking/disembarking very efficient and easy. Food was sub-par, especially in the Windjammer and Chops, which had a $42 up-charge per person. Manager refunded that cost based on poor food quality and average service. Windjammer Manager kept making announces that if you're finished, please ...

New ship and convenient port in NJ. Excellent service in Grande and Chic restaurants. Waiter for dinner (table 113) and Head of our section at Grande are exceptional. Dinner manual is very good though fishes tended to be overcook (tough) for the first 3 days. Excellent sport activities and facilities The cleaning crew did an excellent job for the whole ship Embarkation and ...

Much fun for kids. Entertainment was weak for adults, unless you want to drink, party or gamble. The Gift was excellent dancing and singing but hard to follow plot. Same with we will rock you. Guy on bike was good too. Food was excellent, service and staff were awesome. Food in windjammer had good variety, wonderful presentation. Crowded at times but staff were quick to clean and make space. Main ...

This was a special cruise in recognition of our son's graduation along with 10 of his friends. In total our 64 member group had a ball. There were activities for both kids / young adults ranging from 12 through 18 and friends/family members ranging 21 through 75. Everybody was happy. We enjoyed using the fitness center which was clean and never over crowded. The ship had multiple ...

Our group of 16 traveled together to celebrate a family milestone, and really looked forward to relaxing in a setting that had something for everybody. Our group was 10 adults and 6 "kids" ages 3-15. The teens and most of the adults had many activities they were interested in--the teen activities were fun for them. The SeaPlex (bumper cars, iFly, surfing, sport court, ping pong, etc) was a lot of ...
