Hawaii to Sydney Relocation

Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Radiance of the Seas

This was a very enjoyable cruise, we chose it so we could spend some time in Hawaii before the cruise and also see some of Tahiti, however the long sea day stints were a bit too long with nothing much to do on board those days. The food was good in both the Dining Room and Windjammers and seemed to be even better the last few days. We booked the First Night done Right where they choose a ...

Penny pinching by RCI and the Hawaii port authority undermined the good crew

This was our first repositioning cruise. Wenenjoy sea days, don't get sea sick and looked forward to the 5 day voyage from Maui to Vancouver. However, the strong head winds and cool temperatures meant the wind across the deck often exceeded 40 knots which made all outdoor activities difficult. We enjoyed the mini golf but the wind and rolling boat made it a bit of a lottery. The problem was, ...

12 night Hawaiian repositioning trip to Vancouver

We were traveling with friends who were celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary. It was their first cruise. I kept having to tell them that "it usually isn't like this." Total chaos getting onto ship. Although I understand it was not the ship's fault that it took over 3 hours standing in the hot warehouse for 3+ hours with 2000+ people with no water or air, someone should have been able to ...

We have sailed on many different ship companies and this particular ship was ok. Ship shows its age the food was ok a lot of the employees have little understanding of English. The Hawaii Islands were fantastic that's the only reason we picked this itinerary because of the islands. cabin had a lot of dust in it was really surprised Upon getting to the port in Waikiki it was chaos they ...

Great itinerary; great staff

The itinerary is what sold us on this cruise, and it met our expectations for the days in Hawaii. We loved having 2 days on the major islands, which gave us a great opportunity to see Hawaii, Kauai, and Maui. The 5 days at sea were a bit harder as the weather was mostly cool, windy, and rainy, offering no opportunity for outside fun. Not many activities were scheduled during the day, so we adapted ...

The ship overall was pretty clean and had nice amenities. The cabin was comfortable and kept extremely clean by the stateroom attendant. We ate at all the restaurants on board and the service at all of them were amazing. The pool, sports court and mini golf were great activities to kill sea days. The entertainers for the shows were spectacular. What really surprised me is how nice they were ...

Overall great vacation but ....

The itinerary was perfect. The weather until we sailed to Vancouver was warm and beautiful - and let's face it, sailing to Canada in early May was meant to be chilly. The ship was overall, in good shape. I love the Radiance class ships for the glass/views, and the intimacy. Captain Trym was quite entertaining. The service, in most cases, was stellar. As others have mentioned, I don't like the ...

Below RCI Standards

In general, we found the ship is showing its age. Chairs in the Colony Club show a great deal of wear and tear, and there was a musty smell in the corridor, on deck 8 and on many others. The service and food was below standard on too many days. It was often disorganized - long wait times in line, refusing to change reservation times by stating venues were full, but they were not full. Our ...

WORST ROYAL CARIBBEAN SHIP WE'VE BEEN ON

Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Radiance of the Seas

OH MY. We have been on many many cruises with Royal Caribbean before, and this is BY FAR THE WORST ONE. (A bit of context: we have been on the Jewel of the Seas, and Oasis of the Seas, for example. So writing this review, it's based on our prior experiences.) We sailed from Honolulu to Vancouver, as a repositioning cruise, but I don't understand why the embarkation was 3+ HOURS! (photos showed ...

Great cruise ship

We chose this cruise because we had dreamed of spending our 30th anniversary in Hawaii. Never having been there we really didn't know which islands we would like to visit. This cruise gave us the opportunity to visit several islands and see the different cultures at each location. The ship was a comfortable size in that it's neither too big or small. We were able to see some of the same people ...
