We chose this cruise because many of our cruising friends wanting to be on her first "return" sailing out of Port Canaveral after being gone for over 10 years. We also decided to have a first "Back to Back" experience, and so, also sailed on the May 10th sailing.
Pre Cruise Stay
We stayed, as usual, at Radisson Resort at the Port. For this first time, we elected to take their shuttle to ...
The room 3068 -good
The Ship- ok lots of visible rust
The coffee beverage card- insanely stupid and screws You over: buy a card $32-34 good for 15 drinks NOT!! It is treated as 1 mark off for every expresso shot. So if a drink is $3 or 5 if it has more than a single shot they will mark your card for every shot. $3 cost for an Americano they charge you 4 drinks on card. So you can only get ...
If you need to be entertained 24/7 skip this boat. It has the basics which for me was fine. We had a busy itinerary and were only on the boat during sea days.
Loved: staff, itinerary, food, specialty restaurants and chefs table, entertainment, clean
Didn’t Love: bed was terrible and I did not sleep well, crappy internet that was expensive, drink package overpriced, smoking almost everywhere ...
This was my first cruise with Royal Caribbean, I was looking forward to a fun, relaxing time. My girlfriend is legally blind, she has low vision, so we always contact the cruise line ahead of time to make sure she is comfortable enough with the ship and the itinerary, as we have done with the three previous cruises we have been on with other cruise lines. None of what Royal Caribbean said ended ...
Chose this ship because of the ability to "sample" it with a three day cruise. I have been on Oasis twice but first time on Harmony. Large number of passengers....I believe they said 6,000+ so elevators always had long waits. My suggestion if you are able is to take the stairs that way you get where you want to go faster and it works in your daily exercise program! Lots of walking from one end ...
Wanted to see some of Europe and a cruise seemed like a good way to start. This is a port heavy cruise with very long days. You can see lots but in stops like Rome you will get just a very small taste and it's a great deal of driving and walking. Private tours seem to be the way to go to get the best of each stop.
We had an upgrade to a mini suite which was a welcome addition of space. The ...
Loyal TO RCCL, Overall great cruise, weather outstanding, arrived the day of cruise with no problems, no waiting to check in. Other reviews complained about the food and lack of variety. The windjammer was great, had a huge variety of food to pick from, Sorrentos pizza was ok for a snack as was the Cafe. Main dining room was a disappointment for the main courses however appetizers, soup, salads, ...
We arrived in Honolulu the evening before our cruise and had a hotel a short distance from the cruise port. From the time we check our bags with a porter, through security and check-in, we were on the ship in less than 30 minutes.
We have been on the Radiance of the Seas several times before, but found the ship in need of a makeover. The ship looks "tired". Compared to newer, more modern ...
My friend and I chose this repositioning cruise because of the great itinerary and even better price.
Embarkation was relatively quick and straightforward; complicated only by unprofessional and unpleasant power-mad ground staff in the holding area.
Once onboard, we soon had a drink in hand and were exploring the ship (second time on this ship for me). The ship is elegant, clean and well set ...
This was our freebie cruise using RCCL credit card points. We added a few $$ to upgrade from oceanview to balcony. Since there were extra sea days, the balcony was well worth it, not having to tote items for a lounge chair on the public decks. Our deck chairs allowed you to recline. We also did the anytime dining. On the first night they asked if you had a preference of when to dine. We stayed ...
