Traveled with a large group. Embarkation was smooth. On the ship immediately at the time scheduled.
Cabin very nice. Balcony was a bit dirty, but overall fine. Never met our cabin steward which may be the first time ever.
Pool bar service excellent. Plenty of staff.
Other bars were lacking in service. Bamboo room terrible. Pub terrible.
Dining room food not very good. ...
This cruise had good reviews but now I realize the reviews are from Royal Caribbean lifers. FYI if you have kids the ship attracts a majority of older people. There was only 1 main dining room aside from the buffet. I felt pressured to pay extra to eat at the specialty dining rooms because the salespeople were always standing at the entrance to the buffet. Cleaning was poor, I found false ...
My husband and I cruise a lot. We have cruised on Carnival, MSC, Norwegian and Royal Caribbean. I think about 15 in total. We have only been on Royal Caribbean twice. This last time we went on Harmony of the Seas. The ship was beautiful but it was just another cruise ship. We did not like that we had to make reservations for the shows prior to departing. While at sea one of our shows was cancelled ...
As I much prefer the smaller ships, this was a perfect fit. The Brilliance is in good shape overall. We were in a Grand Suite. Our room was clean and in wonderful condition. Our cabin steward, Luis, was attentive to all and any of our needs. The concierge, Amit, was very helpful in all facets especially with getting off the ship quickly at the ports of call and disembarkation.
As for the food. ...
We have previously done Halloween cruises on Oasis and Harmony of the Seas. The Halloween party on Oasis still remains the best. The party on Allure was much like the one on Harmony and lacked the planning, execution of the show as on Oasis. Without a stage like they had on Oasis it was difficult to see the entertainment or even the passengers that decided to parade in their costumes. On Oasis ...
We caught the cruise bug a while back (2014) and this was our 7th cruise We have sailed Disney, Princess, Carnival but have sort of settled in on RCCL for various reasons. We have been on small ships (Empress of the Seas) and up to the Freedom Class (Freedom and Independence). We typically have sailed with kids (teens) but this was our 25th anniversary cruise so just me and the wonderful wife. ...
I have been on 3 Royal Caribbean and many Carnival cruises. Although this ship has more amenities( ice skating rink, carousel, rock climbing wall, wave raiders, and a promenade I found some areas lacking. They no longer have locker rooms for the gym. It is all closed off. I used to love going to steam room like on Oasis of the seas in 2012. They have now changed this and you have to pay for access ...
So this was our nineteenth cruise, but only the second with Royal Caribbean. We joined nine friends, five of whom were keen RC cruisers, so me and my wife tagged along.
It was a B2B cruise from Ft Lauderdale to Puerto Rico, St Maarten and Labadee the first week, then Labadee, Jamaica and Cozumel the second. Labadee was the only place I had not visited before and was pleasantly surprised.
Our ...
My husband and I thought that we would try something different this cruise and go Royal rather than our norm, which is Carnival. We have never had a bad cruise with Carnival, however, we didn’t see an itinerary that caught our eye during the vacation week that we had scheduled off for out of the port that we use. No biggie, we were all for trying something new! (Our mistake)
Day 1 starting our ...
Port Location, Past Guest Recommendation, Family. I expected penthouse quality and got outhouse. Carpets throughout ship were worse than dirty!!! On board restaurants - very limited. Dining room breakfast service took almost to NOON to be served. Dining room and buffet opened LATE. Service in Buffet area very lacking.
BEST wait staff in early dining - Table 110 - Lazly and Casroy. Over ...
