My wife and two of our friends were excited to get back on the Brilliance of the Seas. We live in the Tampa area and we have sailed on Brilliance (and sister ships) many times. I'm happy to report that Royal and the Brilliance crew did many things well on this first cruise, but our experience in Chops and one of the nights in the main dining room were very frustrating.
First the positive ...
This was the largest ship we’ve ever been on. It didn’t feel overwhelming at all. We chose it for price and itinerary (CoCoCay). The ship was clean. Embarking and debarking were super easy. Our steward and MDR staff were excellent. The CD and. Captain were very engaging. The food was good. Some like the lamb shank, cod and beef entrees were excellent. There is no social distancing in MDR or ...
This was my fifteenth cruise and second cruise w/ RCCL It was mostly a big improvement over our five day sailing on the Jewel in 2019. Our balcony cabin was clean, airy, and spacious. Our steward, Diasa, was friendly and attentive. Dining was mostly good although there were a few meals in the main dining room that could have been tastier. The same for other venues. For example, the pizza is ...
I find that all 4 Oasis class ships are mostly cookie cutter copies with minor differences. My favorite ships to cruise on. I've been on the Oasis a few times, and love it, except for their Broadway show, Cats. They would do better with something more lively, like Jersey Boys. I cruised the Symphony just the month before, and found the staff there more congenial. The only glitch I had on the ...
This was a spur of the moment cruise, a pre-christmas gift that my significant other and myself wanted to share. We did purchase the "key" The key is similar to a fast pass at major parks. It allowed us to bypass the line, get escorted to a very nice lunch and also provided us with wifi.
The ship itself was amazing. It is definitely filled with plenty to do from zip lining to mini golf. It is ...
We received a good deal from our cruise advisor Tony for a grand suite cabin. Also the departure port, San Juan, Puerto Rico was near our home. My husband and I celebrated my birthday at the Chop Grill restaurant and was awesome! The cabin 1252 was a dream. Everything was cleaned. In the main restaurant the food was very, very good. Sorry but the pizza was the worst at sea!!! We do not visit any ...
First cruise for my wife and me since the pandemic started. Spent the night Saturday in Port Canaveral before boarding the ship on Sunday. Boarding the ship was simple and efficient. We never slowed down and had very little wait from the time we parked to boarding the ship. Embarkation could not have been easier. Had our covid tests, boarding pass and passports along with the health forms ...
My wife and I did the Southern Caribbean Cruise out of San Juan on December 5, together with other family members. I have cruised with Royal Caribbean in the past and had great experiences. The company has obviously changed, however, and my experience this time was a nightmare.
First, everyone in our group booked a specific stateroom and paid in full for the cruise at the time of booking. ...
We were happy that this was a 12 night cruise returning Christmas eve. The ports were amazing and while we like a smaller ship, they are sailing at 60% capacity and so it didn't feel crowded or uncomfortable even with Covid restrictions.
The entertainment on this ship "we will rock you" and "Jersey Boys" makes up for the larger ship and the service as ever is perfect. Few food choices not great ...
Food: Just an example, I love croissants and I tried all days for 12 days in hope it will get better but couldn't take more than 2 bites. The only ship where it was so bad and I have taken 15+ cruises. Main dining room food is almost tasteless, luckily buffet had more and better choices.
Activities: Northstar, SkyDive and surfing although presented as free but very limited free spots and ...
