I booked this cruise as a birthday surprise for my wife because we had always heard that Royal Caribbean was better than Carnival, which we normally sailed on. Unfortunately, 'Adventure of the Seas' was not the adventure we wanted, with an extremely hard bed, little food variety/taste, and heavy smoking in the casino. Also, a change was made to our requested dining time, but Royal Caribbean ...
I picked this cruise based on itinerary and date; 3rd time on the Adventure but on Caribbean itineraries. We were a group of 7 adults (all have cruised before several times except for my 80 yrs old friend) We had embarkation time for 10:30am. (Highly recommend this time)Took a taxi on EWR and it took us like 20 minutes to Cape Liberty (no traffic because it was early). It was like $13 per person ...
We haven't been on a cruise in many months and we haven't been on a Royal Caribbean cruise since 2008. Our previous experiences were all right; and we wanted to see New England as we've been the Caribbean far too often.
Ports:
I enjoyed the Itinerary. Boston was great, so much to do and a nice long time in Boston. Portland, Maine was fabulous, Bar Harbor, Maine was foggy and cold, ...
About us: We are a retired couple in our early 70's. This was our 11th cruise, 2nd on Royal Caribbean. It was also our 2nd cruise to Canada/New England. We chose this particular cruise because our local AAA was running a special that would provide us with transportation from NE Ohio to and from the port of Baltimore.
The ages on this cruise ranged from about 12 mos. to the mid 90's. ...
Chose this cruise for the itinerary and although the weather wasn't the greatest the ports were still wonderful and enjoyable.
Ship is older but was clean and tidy except for very dirty outside windows. Since it is a smaller ship the crew is friendly and good at remembering you and making you feel pampered.
Cabin 3124 is small, quiet and comfortable with adequate storage.
Unfortunately ...
Living in NY this cruise was perfect if you choose not to fly and you have a large family coming along. We heard a lot of good stuff about this ship and couldn’t wait to get on board.
It’s a beautiful ship and staff was superb. Being a seasoned cruiser on multiple cruise lines, I only have 2 complaints:
1. The shows need improvement
2. Forget Boston, spend extra day in Bermuda ...
I didn't necessarily "choose the cruise." I was lecturing for a conference that was aboard this cruise/ship.
Overall:
I have sailed on the Oasis before and have also sailed on the Celebrity Brand ships. This cruise departed from Cape Liberty (NJ)- and it's a bit tragic to see the sheer tonnage of humans boarding this ship.
Cons: I cannot blame the crew for their despondent and apathetic ...
I took my teen son on this cruise from Bayonne during the NYC Schools spring break. It was just the two of us -- my husband had to work. We shared a twin bedded balcony cabin on the 11 deck, midship. On arrival our beds were not separated but our cabin steward took care of this while we explored the ship in the afternoon. I'd already booked the bogo for dinners before boarding so we had ...
Thought we were upgrading from Norwegian- was daughters sweet 16 gift and Easter celebration. We booked two balcony staterooms for my daughter was able to take a friend.i prepaid to have her room decorated with a cake and strawberries in room for when we arrived. Surprise nothing done? Also prepurchased refreshment package only one room had cups had to go to bar and argue that we didn’t receive ...
About me: Family of 4 (11, 14 y.o. girls)
Parking-took our own car and purchased a weekly parking for Bayonne Parking lot (10 minutes away from the port). Parking lot cost us about $110 plus tips for 7 nights and it provided free shuttle to the port. It was convenient for us to get to from Brooklyn, NY.
Registration-lines were going quickly, workers directed people efficiently and we were ...
