Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Anthem of the Seas

Starting from Cape Liberty, the embarkation process was a nightmare. We spent over 2 hours in an Uber less than a mile from the ship trying to get to the terminal. There were 2 college-aged "Traffic Enforcers" who did not but let the traffic back up for miles. Once we got to the terminal everything finally began flowing smoothly with the exception of the overcrowded security lines. During the ...

If you want overcrowding, long lines, bizarre entertainment, minimal activities and average main dining room food, this is the cruise for you! I have sailed at least 20 times and Royal Caribbean was always my favorite. The bloom is definitely off the rose. I brought 5 friends with me and was totally embarrassed for recommending this cruise. Anthem of the Seas may be a large ship, but it was ...

Nice Boat, Great Staff, So-So Cruise

There's a lot of good things about Anthem of the Seas, the ship is in great shape and the food is quite good. Best of all, all the staff we met are first rate and take great pride and care in your trip and making things nice for all. But as far as entertaining and making the trip interesting, this particular itinerary was actually quite poor. First off, the flow of the ship is very awkward. ...

Royal Caribbean is no longer the Top Shelf Cruise Line. They no longer pride themselves on great service and food. Most food was mediocre and most staff looked like they didn’t want to be there. Chops Grill was unable to deliver a steak medium rare. They tried three times and it was sent back three times. An Absolute joke, that a Steakhouse that you pay extra can’t cook a steak correctly. Only ...

Cruised with 3 friends, check in was easy. 2 interior staterooms with awesome virtual balcony. Room only has 2 power outlets and 2 USB charging slots near central vanity, none in the bathroom. Bring your own facial tissues or use TP. No grilled chicken, turkey or poultry cold cuts to be had. Mayonnaise and mayo-based salads were tasteless n nasty. Smoked salmon with capers had no flavor. Not even ...

This was our first cruise for a family of five. The room we chose was located at the front of the ship which provided the quiet atmosphere we needed. The room was perfect with a view from the balcony. The bed was two twin conjoined beds which unfortunately we felt the alignment in the middle. We definitely took advantage of this valuable time alone. We selected a separate room (Deck 3 /323) for ...

Bermuda Bound: a mega ship convert on the Anthem

After 30 years of cruising, the Anthem showed this old dog some new tricks and was just right for a multi-generational family cruise. You also can’t go wrong with a five-night cruise to lovely Bermuda, a relaxing gem in the Atlantic Ocean. I recommend this cruise. Embarkation: in the car for one half hour once I arrived at port; evidently the luggage porters had been halted by thunderstorms. I ...

We wanted to take a five day cruise to Bermuda. We have aways been satisfied with Royal Caribbean and with this cruise we would not have to fly. Pros: Lovely ship with many interesting venues, fun amenities like bumper cars, Northstar, etc., Wonderful cabin service, Interesting shows in Royal theater, Bars-many available throughout the ship with excellent service, Very easy ...

PARKING: Getting to park at Cape Liberty in Bayonne was a major chore. After a 4.5 hour drive we ended up spending another hour trying to offload our bags and park just to get on the cruise ship. This was 4+ hours prior to our scheduled departure time. Getting on wasnt an issue, justt drop off and the parking. ENTERTAINMENT & ACTIVITIES: I will never take a larger boat cruise again. Keep ...

Just returned from 5 Night Anthem from Bayonne to Bermuda – We traveled with a multi-generational group of 14, ages ranging from 23-83. Embarkation – “Super Awesome”, No wait, Just walk in with the SetSail Pass and Passport and were on the ship within 10 minutes. Ship – BEAUTIFUL! CLEAN! Staff ensured that passengers washed their hands before entering every dining venue, including the ...
