Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Brilliance of the Seas

This was our fourth cruise. We went with low expectations because we read a lot of bad reviews and some were right whereas others weren't accurate. I booked an excursion months before the cruise and was looking forward to it. Few days before the excursion we got a message saying it had been cancelled and almost all other excursions were booked. The guide we got in Mykonos was a bit aggressive ...

First of all I must admit that the full experience was very good. But I have to recognise that the advertisement to take care of the guests it's perfect from Royal Caribbean but in fact is not easy to manage when happens you something. We make this cruise because of the itinerary, Greek Islands, but we lost Mikonos because the Shore Excursions change the departure time to 12.45 from the ship. ...

First Mediterranean cruise, loved it

This was my first time cruising the Mediterranean and my 3rd cruise with RCI. The embarkation process was quick, considering how many people were checking in at the same time. We were on the ship in about 45 minutes. The cabin was as expected, however the beds were quite old and not as comfy as previously experienced. We had a pipe burst under the floor on the second day, and the staff could not ...

Most laid back ship ever

We were recreating a cruise my wife's parents took exactly 50 years ago. They are gone but not forgotten. We sailed from Barcelona and went to many of the same ports the partents visited in 1967. The Brilliance turned out to be the perfect ship for our mission. The staff was laid back and friendly. The ship was spotless. Our stateroom attendant Roxanne was ever present to keep our ice full and ...

Medium size ship in good condition, not too crowded. Great shows and great ports

I booked the Brilliance cruise mainly for the ports and everyone one of them was amazing: Barcelona-Cannes-LaSpezia (Pisa/Florence)- Rome- Athens-Mykonos- Santorini- Malta-Barcelona. I've been on the new Anthem ship and it was super crowded all of the time. There were crazy lines for everything. Brilliance is a smaller and older ship and less crowded fewer lines more seats at the buffet ...

Food was the best part. Rest was dire

We chose this cruise due to the ports of call that it offered. Of the seven destinations offered, two were changed before the trip, one being the port for the Florence/Pisa leg of the trip (the main reason we chose this cruise was to see Florence in particular). Sadly the alternative port offered was La Spezia which made the trip into Florence difficult and we missed out on what was to be the ...

I chose this particular cruise because of its itinerary, the Greek stops in particular. I booked a private transfer from the airport to the ship through Royal Caribbean, the transfer went smoothly. Embarkation went fine despite there being lots of other guests checking in. My cabin was spotless, plenty of storage space. i was a little disappointed that the main pool was closed for ...

We booked a delux outside cabin with a balcony on deck 8, plus an inside cabin opposite for our three children aged 16, 14 and 11. The en-suite rooms come with a fridge and hairdryer - no irons allowed - nothing which may catch light! The rooms are spacious, with a large comfortable bed and plenty of storage. The water pressure in the shower is good plus plenty of towels, shampoo and soap. The ...

I chose this cruise because I was treating my twin grandchildren to a holiday as I do every summer. Below is a brief account and not every niggle of our experience: Mattresses worn out so foam toppers put on which were dirty and two were torn.Bed linen torn and frayed. Staines on the carpet.. Food in main restaurant not up to standard, very small choice unless you chose from the menu that ...

First Cruise - Great Memories

This was our first cruise, intended as a 'special' to celebrate various events for us this year. We wanted to experience the mix of high-quality 'hotel' facilities along with the variety of daily locations. We built in a few days in Barcelona and would happily go back there for more. So sad to hear about the events a week later, especially as the city is so open and friendly to everyone. The ...
