Western Med cruise wonderful except for mediocre food in MDR

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Freedom of the Seas

It was advertised as President's cruise so we hoped there would be small gifts provided and great excursions and entertainment. These hopes were realized but the quality of the food in the main dining room was substandard. It was dry and not very flavorful. The wait staff was trying their hardest to please, and succeeded in that area, but the food itself was unappealing. On previous cruises, ...

We have made several cruises, but the last three have been with Royal Caribbean. We have found that the staff are really friendly and very obliging and always go out of their way to go the extra mile. The design of the ship in the public areas were very well thought out and pleasing to the eye. The shows where entertaining especially the ice shows which were brilliant. The stateroom we had was ...

Great Cruise let down by our dining experience

We decided to give Royal Caribbean a try after a Princess Cruise last year. Overall we were very happy with the ship and the entertainment was better than we experienced with Princess. The all inclusive drinks package was great and saved a lot of time and hassle and we found the bar staff helpful and friendly even when the bars were very busy. The room was great and the balcony was twice the ...

President's cruise best overall cruise!

We wanted to see the Med. Sea. Figured the President's cruise would offer extras and it was loaded with them. The ports were all amazing too. If you are a C&A member the President's cruise kept adding little perks! There was even a party/concert for all of the passengers in Mallorca on the last night. Each port is very different. Spend at least 2 days in Barcelona and don't use the Ho Ho ...

We wanted to try this company. Rooms are fine and the ship is great even if we prefer Princess Cruises. Embarkation procedure are fine. The cabin is ok even if a little bit tired. Entertainment on the ship is a little bit too much for us. We were expecting more peace. We didn't like the food... Excursions are terrible. We had a tour in Rome. The bus was totally full and too hot and ...

We really enjoyed our first RCCI cruise. Loved the solarium except that the tiles are dangerously slippery. They have signs saying belongings on beds not used after 30 minutes can be collected at the towel point, but never did any one go and actually do this. Having said that, we only waited probably an hour max to get a bed. Found that the outside pool was too cold to use which was very ...

We have never traveled to Europe and this trip gave us a taste and f so many different countries and cultures, one country at a time. Never did I feel I wasn't safe. It seems that they have cut back the number of staff members. The main dining room waiter has far too many tables. The casino works with a skeleton staff on sea days. Very few people attending to drink needs at the pool. We met some ...

I'm not intrested in excursions at all. I wanna have fun and be amused onboard, but I didn't. Must of the activities in the Cruise compass ended up in som sort of selling. Tragic. Ok, the ship is big, but have to be updated. The cabins seems too be furnished in the late 80's. The bathroom felt like a plastic box. It's not very easy too take you from point A til B, up there, down there, ...

We chose this cruise as we had never cruised before and the Western Med seemed like a great destination. We booked our flights through Royal Caribbean and they booked one flight with a Iberian number, one with a BA number and both ended with us flying with Veuling. This caused some problems booking seats etc. and I can see no advantage to booking with RC than booking direct. The ship itself ...

We chose this cruise because we were travelling to Europe and thought it best with 2x children to do a cruise rather than Eurail with our limited time. Lots of people recommended Royal Caribbean as the ship to cruise with if you have children. However, I found that since we were out of the US and European school holiday times, there wasn't much catering done for the children, in that no-one in ...
