Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Freedom of the Seas

We chose the Freedom, love the ship. We had early dining with a wonderful waiter, Jay Narain. If you have the opportunity to request him, he is great! Always smiling, great attitude, couldn't have asked for better! The Beatle group was very good, Ben Mills, classic mix of songs was great and Hector with his magic was very good! The ice show was wonderful, you have to get there early or you will ...

Was asked by my friends to join them for the cruise. The first days where ok. Then the problem started my visa gold card of the BOV bank of Malta was not excepted,my card from the Rabo bank no good. So the only option was to change Euros into Dollars for a rate 1Euro is 1.05 dollar very bad. Then the prices for wine, beer etc. are rediculous, even the price of the special restaurants an ...

This was not the cruise for those who enjoy a leisurely pace and lots of time on the ship. But it was perfect for us -- energetic travelers who wanted to see as much as possible in 10 days. It definitely delivered. We were traveling with friends, celebrating our 50th birthdays. We spent an incredible week prior to the cruise in Barcelona and driving through the beautiful Pyrenees. Our ...

Amazing….BUT,

Destination Ports were awesome (views and options); But, some tours were a bit crazy…..you had to RUN (literally) to be able to see most of what they say you could see on the tour advertisings. In other words, it looks like you could see a lot of places in some of those tours. IMPOSSIBLE! Only running like an Olympian you could see them all; way too many tourists in most destinations. I ...

Large ship, overall service quality?

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Freedom of the Seas

Freedom of Seas, Oct 5-15, Western Mediterranean. First time of such a large ship. Really didn't notice the other 4000+ passengers, but felt that overall 'service' was lacking compared to smaller (2000 or smaller) ships we've been on in the past. Room wasn't made up one night. Nobody at Guest Services seemed to care. Room attendant was very apologetic. Of ten nights in the MDR, asked at ...

Historic Mediterranean excursions and entertainment exceptional. Cost-cuts hurt.

My brother badly needed a vacation. He chose the cruise line and excellent itinerary. Concerns: Compared with their CELEBRITY Line ships (Reflection/Summit/Equinox), small things like no cabin toiletries (shampoo dispenser & mini soaps however); tracking use of pool towels with SeaPass ($25 if not logged in for a return), and limited hours on some of the food venues were disappointments with ...

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Brilliance of the Seas

I chose this cruise (Brilliance of the Seas) because of the Itinerary and dates. I've done 8 cruises with Royal Caribbean and I was disappointed to see this ship was lacking good maintenance, general cleanness, the shows were old and bored. For the first time in my life, I experienced a cruise in which a value added tax between 18% and 21% was added to all my purchases, as well as a 10% of Service ...

We chose this cruise for a big family holiday, there were 12 of us including my 82 year old Mum and my 6 year old niece. The ship is lovely, just the right size and has everything you need on board including a climbing wall, mini golf and 2 swimming pools plus child's pool with slide. The balcony bedroom that we were in was perfectly adequate and very similar to those on the Celebrity that we ...

We arrived in Barcelona the day before the cruise to explore the city first, but the city was on strike and everything, including transportation was closed. The next day, the city re-opened and we were able to take a brief tour on a "hop on/hop off" bus before we embarked on the cruise. This cruise was a great deal because we were able to take two children free (other than fees and tips) to the ...

It was a Family Excursion including 14 couples, we had an amazing time. Our CABIN Man Brian (7604) was on top of everything, our room was a relaxing haven to return to every day after he'd been through! Sweet, Polite, ALWAYS greeted us with a smile and a good morning! In the DINING ROOM, the team of Prakash and Nitin were 2nd to none! Anticipating our every wish, and really, we liked them ...
