We loved all the holiday festivities aboard Grandeur but it’s just not enough. The ship is showing signs of age. The crew for the most part is great but the food left a lot to be desired in both MDR and buffet. We had toilet problems 3 times and the last night going back to Baltimore we literally had no heat and they couldn’t fix it. It was about 30 deg. in our room. There were no good solutions ...
The Grandeur is a nice, smaller (by today's standards) ship. Out of Baltimore, most of the passengers have sailed her before, many have sailed her multiple times. This was our first sailing on the Grandeur. Everything from the Palladium Theatre thru the shops and the Atrium is smaller than most ships but the casino is comparable to most of the larger ships we've been on. The main dining room ...
A nice trip but a poverty-centered, rude. and penny-pinching cruise line. Everything is extra, even room service ($8.95 + 18%). The coffee and juice is cut 50/50 with water (I watched them do it) and when my wife complained because her premium Scotch was so watered down it did not even have a smell, the bar tender admitted it and opened a new bottle! I saw food service staff taking out the ...
We love Grandeur of the Seas. We love being able to drive to the port in 20 min without the hassle of flying to Florida. The ship is a throw back (now that its turned 21 years old) - its not DisneyWorld of the Seas. Its a cruise ship with real people and an unbelievable committed and friendly crew. The ship is showing its age - a lot of it is because its runs though the cold northern winters ...
We chose this cruise because it's a quiet time before the Christmas cruises
The price for our Ocean view cabin was also great.
Embarkation - RC texted us the day before advising that the ship needed extra cleaning, so they asked us to arrive after noon. That meant that some passengers must have come down with the Norovirus, but there were no reports of this in the news. It didn't bother ...
We choose this cruise for 3 reasons: Itinerary, Price and to try sailing out of Baltimore. I certainly can't complain about the 1st two. St. Thomas, Antigua, St. Lucia, St. Kitts and St. Maarten were our ports and while St. Thomas and St. Maarten are still recovering and will be for some time from Hurricane Irma, we still enjoyed all the ports and are glad our tourist $'s are getting back to ...
Have cruised on RCCL many times, mega ships and all their other sizes ships, but Grandeur was a really great experience. First, living in central PA to drive to Baltimore is a snap. The day we got on the ship 12/9 it was snowing and it just added to making this pre-Christmas cruise special. It was fun seeing crew members taking pictures of each other because they had not seen snow. There seems to ...
We chose this cruise for two reasons. First, it was going to three islands we had never visited (Antigua, St. Lucia and St. Kitts). Second, the departure port was Baltimore, MD which was less than 15 miles from our home. It was a 12-night cruise that I designated "The Saints; Tour" (St. Thomas, St. John's - Antigua, St. Lucia, St. Kitts and St. Marteen). We were concerned after the hurricane ...
We just completed our third consecutive cruise on Grandeur of the Seas.
We arrived at the cruise port 10:30 AM and boarded 11:15.Although we would have preferred being able to have lunch in the MDR it was fine in the Windjammer.
The Muster Drill was indoors due to the fact that it was raining . Rather than going to a Sail Away Party we got ready for dinner .
We were seated immediately ...
We choose this cruise because it offered Caribbean ports of call that we have not been to before. We like sailing from Baltimore as it is in driving distance. We really liked that the time we were in each port was at least 7 hours. Plenty of time to wander and see the sights.
As a disabled traveler, there were no accessible cabins available even through we booked almost a year ago. We ended up ...
