Living in Baltimore area this was a good choice as didn't have to worry about sometimes unpredictable air travel to Miami or Ft Lauderdale. Embarkation was a little slow mainly because of TSA once through there we were in our cabin pretty quickly. Disembarkation took us a lot less time than we had budgeted, but our ride managed to get to the terminal 40 minutes early which was greatly appreciated. ...
We were glad when the cruise was over.
Started out poorly when Royal Caribbean made an unwelcome itinerary change at the last minute which cut Bahamas portion short. It was billed as a Bahamas Cruise but we were only there about 10-12 hours.
Prior to the cruise, telephone support from RC was poor at best. Multiple calls to get general information were difficult and information provided ...
This was our 22nd cruise across all lines, and we chose this cruise because we live close to Baltimore and February seemed like a good time to head south. This was our third time on this ship (last in 2007) and we were pleasantly surprised how easy embarkation was. As usual on most cruises, the buffet area was jammed and noisy. They offered carved roast beef, which was impossible to cut -- not ...
We love the size of the Ship, the Baltimore location, the friendliness of the staff and overall vacation experience for the cost. We book a Jr Suite and use My Time Dining. Never a need to schedule an event because there is always the ability to just do whatever you want to do. The food is wonderful, the staff friendly, the dance opportunities numerous, and ports all have great things to do via ...
This was our 17th cruise, and our 2nd Royal Caribbean. The GotS was the smallest ship we had ever been on. In summary; the good:
-great food, lots of selection in the buffet, and different choices every day.
-the dining room food was excellent, with great traditional offerings, and interesting daily choices.
-the staff (everyone - but especially our steward and dining room staff) ...
Specifically chose this cruise to have access through the port of Baltimore. Such an easy boarding! The ship is the smallest of the RCCL fleet but the ride was great. Our cruise started out several days prior to sailing by cancelling the stop at Coco Cay. This was replaced by an overnight stay in Miami so that "routine maintenance" could be performed. It was later explained that it involved ...
We did the same cruise last year and liked it so booked again for 2018. However, the ship's overall maintenance is getting worse. We had some rough seas and during that time drawers and doors within our cabin kept opening and closing on their own. Also, our patio slider would also open and close on its own. Called about getting the lock repaired on our patio door, but was told the entire door ...
We chose this cruise because we wanted to get out of the winter weather for a couple of weeks. We hit a "sweet spot" on the price, very low cost, so we booked it. Although we had cruised quite a few times before, we had never been to the Southern islands, and had never been on Grandeur before.
The ship:
Room: We had a "guaranteed cabin", very small cabin (inside, deck 2), it had an ...
This was our second time taking this cruise to the Southern Caribbean on Grandeur of the Seas. Though this trip was not as good as last years', we still enjoyed it and have booked it again for next year. It is a nice winter break from the cold weather. Our embarkation was fast and easy, though we were not happy when we found out that we should have been given all our internet info from the ...
This was my first RCCL cruise. I wanted to compare it with Carnival and a cruise we took last year on Carnival Freedom.
Even though the ship was smaller, I really enjoyed Grandeur. We had great weather heading down there, but ran into 12' seas on days 10&11. I could feel the ship rolling, but not enough to induce any motion sickness.
Food was great, but dining venues were more limited ...
