Let me start by saying the entire cruise was great- even with having to wear face masks inside. I felt like they were trying their best to keep everything clean. They were even washing the walls regularly!
But the initial boarding at the pier... It was absolute chaos. If you have The Key then this won't apply to you- you have your own entrance clearly marked.
By some fluke I managed to ...
I reside in South Florida with my wife and almost 5-year-old son, who has Asperger's. We recently returned from a Thanksgiving cruise on the Jewel of the Seas. We generally cruise about 1-2 times a year. Our last cruise was an 8-night cruise to the ABC islands on the Adventure of the Seas in December 2019.
I booked this cruise in December 2019 after Royal Caribbean announced that they were ...
Just finished an 8 day cruise on Odyssey. Great cruise and very relaxing but have to admit not my favorite ship. Though that is the case here are some observations:
VENUES/SHOWS
- Music venues on top of each other which resulted in music from each venue bleeding into each other (music halls; crown/compass and schooners)
- 270 venue was awesome. Very high tech
- Main shows were ok. ...
This was the second (unexpected) leg of a back-to-back. Our original plan was a side-by-side starting Nov. 8 on the Allure and continuing onto the Odyssey on Nov. 15. We travel with another couple and were surprised by the idea our husbands came up with to stay on the Odyssey for the next eight day cruise - over Thanksgiving. I have never sailed over Thanksgiving and with the overwhelming amount ...
I chose this cruise because I was looking for a great option for my Bachelor Party that would be reasonable and have most of the expenses folded in for my travel party. We did a 3 Day Sailing from Canaveral with a Day at Sea & Coco Cay; this sailing originally had Nassau on the Itin, but I believe it worked out better without it.
Sailing in a Post-Covid World is interesting. At the time of the ...
This was my return to Royal Caribbean after the closure, and having done an MSC Cruise the month before, was interested to see the differences in how things were run. Solo cruising this time, as I usually do.
Embarkation was super smooth and fast. I had an 11:30 board time, got there about 10min early with no issue and longest I waited was about 10min for vaccine/test verification outside the ...
We chose this cruise as a replacement for a cancelled Hawaiian cruise with Princess. They were not sailing yet so since we already had the time off work we looked for cruises out of FL that were already sailing. We were in FL for the 11/08 sailing on the Allure so we planned our first ever "side-by-side" cruise. We sail with another couple and little did we know our husbands turned the Odyssey ...
We originally selected the Anthem because it was going to Coco Cay, and for the ship activities.
We were disappointed with some of the ship activities because it was impossible to get any time to go on them. For instance, you could only reserve time on the IFly on port days, at 8am. Even though every port day I was on the app before 8am, we could never get a reservation time.
Same thing ...
We sailed RCC once years ago and were not impressed, but this cruise came along at an excellent price, driving distance, good reviews and fully vaccinated. Decided that if it could even be mediocre, we would be happy just to be at sea again. Strangely, most things turned out to be amazing - either amazingly good or amazingly bad.
Amazingly good:
Embarkation was excellent, the best we have ...
Mid 40’s couple. 12th cruise with Royal. My husband is in cancer remission so, we were nervous about Covid. You have be fully vaccinated ages 12 and up. So, we ended up feeling more protected on ship vs on land. Masks are required inside and there are many hand washing stations & antibacterial pumps.
Check in was a little hectic as many people arrived before there scheduled time. There are ...
