Ship-Voyager is a good size ship, but with the renovations, they have reduced public space for more cabins. Too many people squeezed into smaller areas. Even though it was recently refurbished, it is showing its age. Very noisy in certain areas like the promenade, Schooners, Windjammer, and the library.
Cabin(inside) was normal, except access to the bed was difficult on the TV side due to the ...
Wanted to have a look at the Voyager, and particularly as supposedly recently renovated. Cabin 6232 was our cabin on the sixth deck. No renovations, brick hard bed, mould in shower, rust on balcony. No tissues, no toiletries. From the time of boarding was bombarded with sales whilst walking, sitting in the bar, even while eating in the main dining room- drink packages, dining packages, spa ...
Me (aged 11)went on a cruise into the middle of nowhere with my family. This was our second time doing that but not on that cruise line, and I have to say that I still had a terrific time but sadly the food there was terrible.
On our day of arrival I had a desert in the Dining Room, that was really nice. The next day I wasn’t feeling too good but I’ll get to that part later. Anyway, my Mum got ...
We did a 10 day cruise out of Sydney Australia to the South Pacific. We chose Radiance of the Seas for the departure date and itinerary offered. Unfortunately this itinerary started changing immediately after we booked (prior to Coronavirus) and continued changing right through our cruise. Understandably we were on the ship with week Coronavirus starting making news and quarantining other ships ...
Overall our holiday was good, but there were a few things that brought down the enjoyment.
Our stateroom was assigned by RC on the starboard forward part of deck 6 and was above the deck 5 smoking area. This meant when we wanted to use the balcony, we got cigarette smoke in the air. Fresh air was why we picked a balcony in the first place. We also were deluged in cigarette smoke when waiting ...
We chose this cruise as we had been on Ovation previously, and knew it would provide enough entertainment for our kids and grandkids. Although the grandkids (five of them, aged 4 to 15) did not go to the kids club, there was enough on the ship to keep them engaged and happy.
Embarkation in Sydney went without a hitch, and by 11.30 we had found a table in the Windjammer and had our first ...
First up, a disclaimer. I’m more recently a solo cruiser and I choose cruises based on the ship (ambience etc), the itinerary, and mostly because I like to relax and read a book (thus quiet spaces are very important). I’m not really interested in active onboard activities (iFly, Dogems, Flowrider etc).
Radiance of the Seas was my 9th cruise from Australia, and my 5th with RCI (after Voyager, ...
I choose this cruise because it LOOKS spectacular...
But don't be deceived. The service was horrible... I wanted fresh parmesan but I got the 3 year old grated parmesan cheese...
If I were to be a 1st time cruiser I still would think that this ship was bad...
I got woken up at 9:30am ship time to the crew emergency practice... on the 6th day. Why couldn't they have used the walkie ...
Ovation of the Seas is a marvel and near faultless. The staff are amazing, and always have a smile. The itinerary for 9 days was well balanced between at-sea days and port days. Our 2 kids (Miss 5 and Miss 8) loved the kids club and the pool facilities.
EMBARKATION
We live in Sydney and decided to use the relatively new Light Rail to get into the city. This was great as where you get off at ...
We are loyal RC cruisers with 12 cruises under our belt and are Diamond Plus members. In 2019 we decided to try out Celebrity and were very much looking forward to going back to an enjoyable RC cruise again. We had been on the Voyager twice before. Nothing could have prepared us for what was ahead.
Our embarkation was very smooth and very excited to have some lunch before going to our Junior ...
