Tauck offers family adventures on land, but its general river cruise program is really not geared toward family travel. However, in the last few years, select itineraries for one ship include kid-friendly attractions and activities aimed at the younger set.
That said, for a mature teen who's interested in travel and okay with spending time with adults, a river cruise can be a good option. There's enough free time to add specific areas of interest into the family touring, and organized tours of museums and the like are engaging on many levels.
