Unlike some expedition companies, Cruise North encourages families and children to travel onboard, although they recommend that any children younger than seven stay at home.
The few children we had on our sailing enjoyed the experience tremendously, reveling in the opportunities to ride in the Zodiacs and see a polar bear up-close. The expedition staff -- the Inuit trainees, in particular -- were extremely welcoming and helpful to the children and devoted a lot of their free time to looking after and entertaining them.
