Avalon, offering cruises of four to 24 nights, covers most of Europe's great rivers, including the Rhine, flowing from the Swiss Alps through Germany and Belgium and into Holland's North Sea; the Moselle through France, Luxembourg and Germany; and the Danube through Hungary, Austria, Slovakia, Romania and Serbia to the Black Sea. Others include the Seine from Paris to Normandy, and the Rhone between Lyon and Arles. Land extensions are available on all cruises.

Seasonally, the line features "tulip time" trips through Holland and Belgium in spring, and Christmas Markets voyages on the Rhine and Danube in winter.

Avalon is a big believer in special-interest theme cruises; among the most popular are those covering topics like art, music, food and wine.

Farther afield, China trips on the Yangtze include land stays in Shanghai, Xian and Beijing. Galapagos cruises include stays in Quito and visits to the Charles Darwin Research Station. Egyptian itineraries offer a choice of 10- or 12-night cruises with stays in Cairo and Aswan.
