We had booked an ocean view cabin, but a few days before the sail date we were upgraded to a veranda suite, AB202. The location of our particular cabin was at the rear of the ship on deck 8 so we didn't have too far to walk to anywhere. On the negative side, to get to our cabin in the evening we had to either walk on one side through the Explorer’s lounge after waiting patiently for Adagio to finish playing, or hold our breath and sprint through the smoky casino on the other side. (We must confess that we sometimes rudely walked through while Adagio were playing). If it had not been for the upgrade, and we must admit to really enjoying our balcony for this scenic cruise, we would not have chosen this cabin location. However, this location would have been excellent for people with mobility issues or for smokers that frequent the casino. We complained to the front desk about a bad smell preventing us from sitting on our balcony on a couple of occasions when we were in port. We were told that it resulted from a combination of ship’s waste vent locations and unfavourable wind direction and there was not much they could do about it. Read entire member review >>
Room was small, but doable. It took two grown men and a jack-ass to open and close the verandah door. We were supposed to have a walk in closet, but there was none. I complained to the front desk(G.R.) and the lady asked me if I could stand in the closet. I told her I probably could if there were no clothes hanging up, at which time she told me if I could stand up in it , it was a walk in closet. I kept complaining with other G.R. staff and they finally gave us each a meal in the Pinnacle Grill, which was next to nothing as we already have 50% off in the Grill. Read entire member review >>
Our starboard view was delightful, especially because when we cruised the Gironde estuary we were able to view both sides of the river. The room was quite comfortable for two and we appreciated the verdanda. This deck offers a great deal of quiet and privacy as there are few cabins located on this deck, and we were quite close to the library, casino and bars. Read entire member review >>
Deck 8. Really easy to get to the public rooms. Room was quiet, bed comfortable. Only had neighbors on one side. Loved having the large veranda with nice furniture. Cabin was same as those on the Dolphin Deck we have had before, otherwise. Clean, good storage. Good TV, good attendants. Read entire member review >>
Never, ever book 200 series aft cabins on the Prinsendam. Terrible engine noise and vibration which worsens as seas get rougher. Veranda cabins in this area get water draining and spilling over on them from aft pool making them unusable. Avoid these cabins at all costs. Read entire member review >>
