This was our fourth cruise and our first since 2004, and our first on Princess (although two prior cruises were with its parent, Carnival). TRANSFER TO SHIP We opted for the transfer to the ship from downtown Anchorage, which was handled really well. We arrived at 10 AM for a noon transfer, and they were already open and checked us in and took our bags in no time flat. We could even ...

Ports of call were great. Most lodges were nice but lots of coach riding and trains. Saw very little wildlife but weather was fabulous. Got to see Denali finally after the clouds passed. I felt excursions were way over priced but very well organized by Princess. Our balcony was larger than most we've had. Beds in cabin were the very best and got good sleep. Entertainment during the day was ...

THIS IS A MUST-DO CRUISE

We chose this cruise because we ran out of time planning a trip to Alaska on our own. We had friends who had done the cruise a couple of weeks before and they said it is a wonderful cruise, scenic, and with good stops/excursions. I was not expecting much. I am a "I am never going to cruise again" person after my first and only cruise before this (21 years ago!!) Now I feel dumb! What a ...

8 adult family members traveling together on a cruise for the second time. The first was on the NCL Pride of America in 2015 to Hawaii. For this trip, my mother-in-law selected the Princess "Voyage of the Glaciers" because of the option to add the land tour. 4 of the family did not take the land tour. My husband and in-laws and I added the 3 day extra option, and arrived in Fairbanks on ...

ship was old - worn holes in chair in room - carpet had worn spots - carpet was coming apart in doorways - mold in shower - food in main dining room was boring & tasteless - showers very small - the only thing that I can say I liked about the cruise were the beds - very comfortable - doubtful we will ever go on a Princess cruise again - help was not that friendly, almost like they were too busy to ...

This was a great cruise with a wonderful itinerary. You must see Glacier Bay. It was wonderful to have a park ranger come on board during our cruising that day to talk about the area. I enjoyed the naturalist on board during the week who shared about the wildlife we were seeing. Our captain was wonderful- enthusiastic and friendly, which I believe made the staff happy and enthusiastic. We ...

Wonderful Trip, Seamless Execution

This is a trip we would recommend to anyone. This was a 10 day with 3 day land beginning on 6/25 in Anchorage and ending in Vancouver. We booked through Costco which is always hassle free. The one thing we didn't realize is that virtually everything is Princess. The lodges, the motor coaches and even the railway. Everything was incredibly seamless and went like clockwork. The Princess Lodges in ...

The beauty of Alaska neutralizes any negatives!

My husband and I enjoyed this Cruise/Tour 4 years ago and loved it. I decided it would be a great trip to use to introduce my sister and my two cousins to cruising (hubby stayed home with the pups). This was my seventh Princess cruise, but then I have never cruised another line to compare. I have never felt the need, as Princess has almost always been enjoyable. We had a mini suite on Dolphin ...

Alaskan anniversary cruise

This cruise was for our 25th anniversary so we splurged a little more than we normally would have. We booked almost a year early to make sure we got the room we wanted (B416 mini-suite on the port forward facing bump-out). That may have led to the only "negative" we had on this cruise. When we booked there was no such thing as "Club Class" so when Club Class was announced I pretty much ignored ...

Amazing Glaciers!

We chose this cruise because it was our 40th wedding anniversary. After research and talking with our travel agent we found out that Princess had it's own lodges for the land portion we wanted and was one of the few cruise lines that could cruise Glacier Bay and get up close to the glaciers. We had previously done 2 cruises with Oceania but their itinerary did not work for our time. We knew ...
