I have cruised with Princess 10 times to many different ports, but this was our first Grand Mediterranean. I enjoyed the itinerary and excursions. Although some excursions were very pricey, we stayed with ship recommended trips because we are new to this area. The captain issued a letter the day before Istanbul to assure us our safety was number one and we should stay with our excursions and away ...
First of all we really enjoyed the ship. It is a floating splendor that has a lot to offer. We were in a mid ship deluxe balcony (D407) that had a trapezoidal shaped balcony (54 sq. ft.). Since we were mid ship, we experienced the lack of a central staircase. We learned to live with it and made appropriate adjustments as the situation required. For us, the lack of a central staircase was in no way ...
My wife and I have just returned from our first real cruise (did a 5 day out of Florida previously).
PROS:
The staff excelent nothing was too much trouble and all well trained, The facilities, food etc all excellent. Even got pizza served to us watching a film in the cinema under the stars!
Great mix of fellow guests from all over the world and the average age must have been about 40. Only 1 ...
We flew into Venice a couple days earlier. We loved Venice. We walked and walked and got lost a bunch of times. Our hotel, Hotel Antiche Figure was excellent!
Embarkation
We paid a foot taxi to lug our bags to the port from our hotel (it would have been impossible for us to do because of all the bridges) while we walked alongside him. $15 per bag - well worth the $30! There is a vodofone right ...
Second experience with a meditteranean cruise, and with Princess a much nicer one:
Soft embarkation, and the best disembarkation I ever experienced! A nice ship, with nice service, few noise, few announcments and so comfort despite number of passengers. Quite impossible to imagine beeing on a mega-ship (despite od course number of proposals ans activities). In fact all the advantages of a ...
I have thought a lot about my experience on board the Royal Princess, let it digest and settle in for a couple of weeks before penning a review. I will say that, compared to how I felt getting off the boat, my negative impressions have not mellowed with time, although my acute irritation has tamped down somewhat. To sum up the experience: beautiful ship and if it had been my first Princess cruise, ...
Between us my cruising friend and I have sailed on five Princess ships on itineraries including the Caribbean, Asia, Hawaii and now the Mediterranean and were looking forward to joining the newest ship of the line, Royal Princess, to see what improvements have been incorporated into the new design.
Embarkation in Venice was relatively smooth and quick as Platinum cruisers, preceded by the novelty ...
Well guess what? I'd read a few negative reviews of Royal Princess before the cruise, but let me positively update you ... the dining and service level are great, it'; sgetting past teething problems, we had very engaging, helpful "go the extra mile" cabin stewards and dining staff, the food was better than any ship I've sailed on before in the main formal dining restaurants ... better than most 4 ...
We have been on over 20 Princess cruises but I have never felt this way getting off the ship. I think I am still trying to get my head around what the Royal Princess had to offer.
The ship is impressive - it is done up very nicely and is lovely but something just seemed to be missing. The first thing I missed was a promenade deck for those nice afternoon walks. There were 2 spaces outside the ...
We sailed Ruby Princess on her Mediterranean itinerary in July 2013, a 12-night voyage from Venice to Rome with stops in Croatia, Greece, Turkey and Italy. Our party consisted of us, two parents in our early forties with our 8 and 10-year old daughters. This was our 21st cruise, 3rd on Princess having previously sailed on Dawn and Grand. These are our thoughts on the line, ship and voyage.
The ...
