Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Majestic Princess

Cruised before with Princess and this cruise right time of the year for our needs. What really floored us was Princess imposing a charge of $299 to use the Sauna Facility that is free on other Cruise ships. From the time you step on board they are trying to nickel and dime you to death. We travelled Sydney to NZ ON 15TH December 2019. The staff on the other hand are as a whole quite ...

Had always wanted to visit New Zealand but was uncertain whether to spend Christmas onboard. Turned out they did make it kind of special and we were pleasantly surprised. First of all, embarkation and disembarkation at the beginning and end of the cruise were breezy even though there were quite a few stations to go through during embarkation. Our cabin was almost ready when we got on and we ...

Excellent food, service and destinations. No hard in your face sell for any extras as expected on MSC Meraviglia. Majestic Princess has Best Cruise Direction, Andrew, that we have experienced after 15 cruises The Cruise ship Orchestra and Dancers and Singers were amazing. Sallie, was a standout for organising a passenger choir. This was in addition to her busy dance schedule. The ...

We usually travel on the smaller to mid size ships on various cruise lines and were very hesitant to try a large ship but a very good deal came up for this Xmas cruise so it was only 12 days so thought it was a perfect opportunity to try it. We were very pleasantly surprised as the food was good in all venues without too many lines to wait in though we tried to avoid the lido buffet as it is ...

Great for older travellers

This is undoubtedly a beautiful ship. We have cruised many times and this was our first cruise with Princess. We found the passenger base on the older traveller side. We took our 17 year old with us on a XMAS cruise and there was very little for her to do and very little company her own age. The ship targets catering very well for the Chinese and American passenger base which was very high on this ...

went on this cruise because AUS and NZ were on are bucket list. The cruise was a problem from the get go check in people were rude and we experience are first Princess take away no lanyard were provided, of course you can purchase them on board, other princess take aways we encountered, less selection of food items in Market place, items only available in one of the two dinning areas meaning you ...

Could have been oh so much better

We chose this as our first Xmas Cruise, it could have been oh so much better. Embarkation was brilliant. 15 minutes from getting out of the taxi with our baggage to arriving in our Cabin. We've done a few cruises now, this was the quickest embarkation by far. Captain set the tone before the Emergency Muster, by telling parents to take charge of their children. Ship crew and other ...

The staff made the difference

We chose this cruise because of the itinerary. Being in a suite, we received many on board perks which included having an extended room service menu which we utilised for breakfast on 3 occasions. We also ate breakfast in The Crown Grill 3 times, another suite advantage, the service there was excellent. However we opted to eat in Club Class Dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner most of the ...

It was so easy to select this cruise, Christmas on the seas, exploring new destinations and being looked after by the crew, why not, was fabulous.Have book another cruise. The children were really looked after, Princess gave each child a christmas present, and Santa arrived on time in his red sleigh, and the kids really enjoyed everything. Food was amazing, cannot fault. Our cabin was small but ...

The highlight of the cruise was to the Maori Village in Tauranga

Always wanted to see Australia and New Zealand. It was disappointing, Hobart and Tauranga were good, but the other ports were not interesting. The crew was great. Management was not to be seen very often. The customer service desk was disorganized, except for Yesemena. There are no set lines and guests did not know where to line up, so there was line jumping and walking ahead of people ...
