Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Majestic Princess

First cruise on this ship. Internals similar to Sun and Sea Princess but bigger. Takes a while to get from one end to the other, apparently has 3500 passengers in Australia but up to 4500 whilst overseas. This probably explains why ship did not feel busy ( except of course in Princess Theatre-as per usual for Princess Cruises). Being set up for overseas it had things that Princess once had in ...

Chose this cruise because of the many ports to visit. The magnificent 'Majestic Princess' as Captain Sagani calls her and he is right. Everywhere you looked there were beautiful paintings, sculptures and decor. Our deluxe balcony stateroom was great, we enjoyed a drink on the balcony on most evenings watching the sunset before heading to one of the many bars for a drink before dinner. Anytime ...

I did not chose this cruise but went with a relative due to the cruise leaving from Australia. I had never been to the South Pacific before, so it was a new area of travel. Embarkation and disembarkation were relatively easy and well organised. This ship is lovely and clean and the cabin stewards are extremely helpful and friendly. Our disabled cabin was large and easily accessible for ...

Engine vibrations unsettling to many people.

First time on this ship. Have never suffered motion sickness and have experienced heavy seas on previous voyages on smaller ships. On this ship many of us felt the engine vibrations strongly, causing nausea and anxiety for much of the cruise. I am very puzzled as to why this unpleasant feeling occurred but it was a common complaint among passengers so I was not alone. The seas were very calm so ...

Showtime and singers and dancers and entertainment was the best I have seen on a cruise

Have done 5 Princess cruises, are platinum members and were interested to cruise on the Majestic even though we had done the cruise twice before. The dining team for table we had for table 299 had difficulty understanding our requirements. Food service was very slow for the 7.30pm and on occasions we missed the late show in the Princess theatre. Wine service was particularly slow as the wine ...

With only a day and one-half to explore Sydney, we only captured a small glimpse of this charming city. Both embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly and very quickly for us. Our balcony cabin was roomy and nicely decorated. Cabin steward was excellent. Being as it was at the front part of the ship, anywhere between 4,000 and nearly 6,000 steps were done daily. With so many ...

Some Issues

We had some issues with Majestic Princess which we have never encountered before with the other Princess ships. - The internet was "so slow". Guests were complaining. We complain to the Internet Manager however, he didn't help us at all. - **** If you add up all the items on your stateroom bill you will notice it much less than shown on the bill. So be careful, add up your stateroom bill ...

Disappointing Pacific Cruise

We chose the cruise to celebrate my wife's birthday. We decided to celebrate this at the HARMONY ASIAN RESTAURANT. What a disappointment! Food was terrible. For example, the Duck Salad only had two slivers of duck, less than a mouthful. Drink prices were way too high. For example a bottle of ATTEMS PINOT GRIGIO cost $59.00 and a glass $14.00. Local bottle shop in Australia, ...

Not one of Princess Cruises' better ships

Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Ruby Princess

User Avatar

Chose this ship due to the South Pacific itinerary and based on a previous cruise with Princess (Regal Princess). In comparing the two ships, I was disappointed In the Ruby Princess. The entertainment was definitely not the same caliber as with the Regal in terms of variety or quality. The Horizon buffet court had much less selection and was poorly staffed. Often multiple serving sections were ...
