Avoid Princess

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Ruby Princess

Princess was the worst cruise line I have traveled on. Staff were not friendly/helpful, food was not that good and was not labeled to indicate if it was vegetarian, many of the hot tubs were closed the entire cruise (and would have been nice since we were in Alaska), they included a mandatory tip into most of their prices which is deceitful (just give me the true price instead of trying to hide ...

Incredible First Cruise Experience

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Ruby Princess

My wife and I always wanted to visit Alaska. The Ruby Princess had high ratings for this type of trip, so we went ahead and scheduled it. - Our stateroom was great. The beds were INCREDIBLY comfortable. My daughter slept fine as well in her fold-down ship bed. Plenty of storage. - The pools and hot tubs were plentiful. The viewing decks were numerous and easy to get to, and view from, during ...

Food & entertainment has gone way downhill on Princess

We chose Princess because we had always heard that Princess really dominates in Alaska. We could not tell that, especially since our Princess ship was usually docked the farthest from the main downtown areas of each port. And there were certainly other ships that joined us on the same route into Glacier Bay. We enjoyed our Princess excursions but would have appreciated knowing before hand that ...

Ruby Princess Was Simply Amazing!

I am looking forward to cruising with Princess again in the future. As first time cruisers, my husband and I were simply amazed at the wonderful experince we had on Princess. We were really impressed about the type of people in the ship. It was a crowd filled with older people and responsible young adults with children. We felt completely safe in the boat. There were no drunk people ...

Meh

Price, location, timing. Wanted to try another cruise line. Overall it was meh. Some poets were great. Others could have skipped. Wait staff in restaurants and our steward were great. Everything else was mediocre or even subpar. Lotus spa thermal suite is a rip off. Want my $200 back or will not even consider this cruise line again. Bed was excellent. Anytime dining dinner was also very ...

Not something I would do again.

We chose this cruise for ship size and itinerary. The itinerary is GREAT. We loved the ports of call and the time in Glacier Bay was fantastic. We purchased our excursions through Princess and were happy with all of them. That is really where my rave review ends. The experience on the ship itself just wasn't worth the money in my opinion. Things are not well explained, the events/activities are ...

What a wonderful time

Can’t say enough about our experience. From start to finish the Princess staff was superb. Their telephone agents were helpful answering and assisting me with all of my crazy questions prior to the cruise. While prebooking excursions they took time to answer questions I had. Once cruise time came, the check in process was seamless and so was the service. Smiles were everywhere on the ...

Disappointing

Choose this cruise as we were informed that this was the best line for Alaska Cruise. How very disappointing. I have taken over 15 cruises (Disney, Carnival, Royal Carrib, Celebrity) and this was the worst. Took a Princess cruise in 1994 - which was also terrible. Thought we would give it another try. Certainly never will again. Ship was not well kept, staff was not helpful or friendly. ...

First I would like to give a shoutout to Denise Norwood who helped coordinate our flight, transfer to and from ship, our room, dining options and flight home. At one point I had a problem and she took charge and did not give up until she corrected it and kept me in the loop every few hours. Thank you Denise. The Ruby Princess is a beautiful ship. We were so impressed with the size and the ...

Good Ship but Broken Cabin

We are seniors. Our adult daughter and active 6 year old granddaughter accompanied us but stayed in an ocean view cabin. This was our 11 cruise 6th with Princess. We prefer Princess due to the piazza/international cafe layout of the vessels. Except for our cabin most things worked out well. I will review our cabin setbacks in a subsequent heading. This was our 3rd. cruise to Alaska. One prior ...
