My family and friends took the Grand Princess on a 15 night New Years cruise. The idea of leaving out of our home port (San Francisco) and visiting Hawaii was quite enticing. My ten-year-old is a Love Boat freak (really), so when my travel agent called and said there was a sale on this itinerary, we jumped on it. Unfortunately, we had the worst cruise that we have ever experienced. However, I am ...
We loved the chance to sail out of our home town (San Francisco). The embarkation and disembarkation were smooth and pretty fast. Onboard entertainment was a disappointment to say the least. On a 15-day cruise there were only 2 production shows and they were not great. The magician was awful and I think someone's grandkid could have done better. We walked out. We felt that Princess sis not want to ...
Grand Princess is 21 years old and still in good shape with many attractive public rooms.
The multinational crew is well trained and friendly, the food and dining room service is fine, the entertainment is varied and well presented. There are many sea days on this itinerary and lots of activities to fill your days. The Hawaiian Cultural team was excellent with talks, music, dance, arts and ...
Let me start by saying dont not book on this cruise line, unless you are over 65 and caucasian. Do not go on this ship, or cruise line if you have kids, or teens or under 65. Even the food is tailored to an older person's digestion. Limited activities on board. Also, do not pay your gratuities in advance, or you will not get appropriate service. I dont know where to start so I will just list ...
Christmas sailing for the whole family.
Embarkation was a pain in the behind. Fault lies both with my family and the staff (but primarily the latter). I won't go too much into it, but basically, be sure your whole party is there to check in at the same time!
The ship itself is fairly dated, but it wasn't really a problem for me. There's a fair amount to appreciate about an older ...
Loved the itinerary and love to sail on Princess
One of our shore excursions was the WORST we have ever taken on a cruise line. It was to include lunch and what was served was inedible. Reported it twice.
The other two shore excursions were fabulous!
Entertainment was superb except for the comedian and magician. The Mariachis in the Piazza were terrific but entirely too loud. Star gazing ...
This was a cruise my brother put together for our parents. In total, we had 16 family members spread across 5 rooms. Overall, the service was great. Our waiter for dinner was exceptional. Our stateroom person, Shendy, was awesome. The food was OK. The ports were OK. The onboard entertainment was lacking. They didn't have a place for youngsters to get their energy out especially being on ...
We chose this cruise because we could be with family members of various ages. And that was accomplished. However, we are experienced cruisers and found the food poor (expected more from Princess) and not particularly fresh; the staterooms were quite dingy (but clean); and the entertainment lackluster, Pluses were embarkation and disembarkation; both of which went quite smoothly. The children that ...
This was our first cruise while we are world travelers. This cruise was beyond our expectation in every way you could imagine.
An amazing organization from the start to the end with impeccable staff & all you need to enjoy in 10 days. From the entertainment including great shows, comedy, singers and dancers, then the fitness center with spa, hair & nail salon, relaxation, tanning on the deck, ...
This trip was a very enjoyable way to spend the holidays. My favorite moment was when the ship came to a full stop for a while to allow Santa to board. While the ship was stationery in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, we witnessed sharks swimming leisurely along. That was very cool!
Our room stewards on Princess are always prompt and attentive. The food is amazingly good and the selection ...
