The cruise was great but when my wife and I made the reservations I had asked for timed dining for a table of two. Might be because of the Covid the last 2 years when we arrived the 1st night for our table on past cruises we were assigned a table for the week and would be taken the 1st night to the table and return the same time every night even if you were a few minutes late. This time though ...
I have always had great experiences on my previous Princess cruises to Alaska and Hawaii. This cruise was excellent in many ways. The entertainment was top notch. The food was delicious and such a great variety of choices. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. That's all the positives points of this particular cruise.
There were quite a few negatives though. I've never had to wait sooo ...
Our background: We usually sail Celebrity but decided to try Princess for the first time since we could embark SF and did not need to fly.
Summary: we won't be back on Princess.
The Good:
Sabatini – Beautiful view of Golden Gate Bridge aft deck 16 as we enjoyed our meal at a window table as the ship sailed out of SF bay. Great waiter and non-crowded venue, as compared to the cluster-f* ...
I choose this cruise because it went out of San Francisco, and was easy for me to access. It started horrifically. The Majestic Princess was in port at the regular terminal. So, our California coastal cruise was out of Pier 37, a smaller building. I arrived on a chartered bus from Sonoma County, and the bus driver was told to have us get off the bus and get in line. He was able ...
This cruise was a makeup cruise from the beginning of the pandemic, and we had a cruise credit to use. My daughter was traveling with me, and she hadn't been to California, so we chose this cruise. Embarkation took forever. We were in line for 2.5 hours. The ship was late disembarking the prior cruise ( we think) so it delayed us getting on. Once on board, I have nothing but great things to say. ...
Great way to relax but Princess needs to fix a few things.
Not up to snuff yet post pandemic.
Short way to get away and relax, but the embarkation process was a disaster. We had to stand in line three hours since trip not ready and it took four hours after arrival before getting to room. Cruise left almost 3 hours late. My wife has some health issues and had to stand 3 hours outside ...
We definitely got off on the wrong foot. When we arrived for departure the port was changed (Princess did send a notification, but I skimmed through it thinking it was just a copy of our bill) and we had to walk 3/4 of a mile from pier 19 to pier 39 to stand in line for 1.5 hrs in the freezing wind. We paid additionally for early boarding, but that went out the window when we had to stand in line ...
We had a really nice cruise on the Ruby starting with the embarkation, which was a disaster. We choose not to let one bad experience ruin our cruise, though so we recovered and put that all in the rear view mirror as quickly as possible once we were onboard. There were some remaining issues which I think were related to check in but, they didn't detract much from our experience onboard. ...
We booked a 15day cruise to Hawaii. We flew from NJ to San Francisco for the sail away under the Golden Gate Bridge. After standing in line outside for 2 1/2 hours we finally entered the terminal and stood on line some more. Green lane and having the medallion didn’t matter. The sail away was 2 hours late. By this time the wind was freezing and it was raining. The service was good, the food was ...
Worst cruise I have ever experienced. There were ZERO covid precautions/enforcement to help protect us from getting COVID-19. Princess' lack of concern for infecting guests gave my family COVID-19. Princess did NOT protect their passengers/crew. Many people were sick on the ship and the crew just pretended it wasn't happening. Even after being notified that my party members contracted covid (from ...
