Regal Princess; Southampton to Southampton Aug 2023.
The ship is ok!
I do think it has a confusing layout, you are only able to go to some floors in some lifts, so you have to get off one lift to walk down corridors, past dozens of rooms, to get to the next lift to catch that one to get to the lower floors, which you need to do for getting off the ship and to go to the bars/ ...
Chose this cruise for overview of British Isles. Port call at Le Havre France was a plus as it allowed for excursions to Normandy Beaches or Giverny to see Monet's Garden.
Crew was superb. Excellent Cabin Steward, Bar and Restaurant Staff. Service was always friendly and timely.
Bars were enjoyable spaces and nice places to hang out. Especially liked the Good Spirits bar at atrium ...
We chose the cruise because of the itinerary and convenience of UK departure point. Had assumed service would be similar to P&O and Royal Caribbean but sadly it was not. The ship was cold and lacked atmosphere, restaurant service varied from poor to average and whilst the food was good with reasonable portions, the dining experience lacked class. No control over so called Smart Casual, often ...
We were looking for a way to see as much of the British Isles as possible and this itinerary delivered.
This was our second time on Princess, (Majestic in Alaska being the other). Otherwise we have done Disney cruises.
We thought service was on par with Disney and our prior experience with Princess. We were a little nervous based on recent reviews of the Regal indicating it was short ...
We chose a Mexican Riviera cruise for a family event (10 people). Overall, it was pleasant but there were some bumps.
We had a Club Class Mini-Suite. The bed was very comfy and the room had plenty of storage. Everything is a bit dated, but it was spotlessly clean. Our room attendant was fantastic.
Reserve Collection dining was very nice on embarkation day (we had lunch there right after ...
We chose this cruise to escape from Dallas where the temperatures are consistently three digit. It was our first Princess cruise, our second Alaska cruise, and about our 25th ocean or river cruise. We booked a mini suite with balcony. This is definitely a ship oriented toward families and a 40-50 year old passenger demographic.
Our experience doesn't support comments elsewhere about the Royal ...
This cruise was a long time in planning, then a 3 year delay due to COVID to be a bit of a disappointment.
This ship needs to be refreshed, stained mirrors, broken lamps.in lounges and worn upholstery. Dining rooms are chaotic at best, most night we were seated at tables that were not set. Several time what was listed on the menu and what was served were not the same: Roast pork came as ...
This was my first Princess cruise and far from a good first impression. If it wasn’t for the fact that I already have a cruise booked on Sky Princess for next month, I would not book with them again. All I can do is hope that the experience will be better on a newer ship.
I knew this was an older ship but having sailed on several which are older I was shocked to see the state of it, ...
I enjoyed my cruise even though the excursions were very expensive.
Since arriving home I have tried to contact Princess three times to ask them to refund the money they took from my account for a bar bill that is incorrect because I did not order any drinks. Their online form does not work and when I rang them I was told to call the USA. I think this is a shocking way to treat customers. ...
We had a great time on the cruise. I am diabetic and was happy to see sugar free desserts. I love my coffee and was glad to see the expresso being served. My wife is not fond of sweet desserts and was glad to have so much fresh fruit available. All of the staff were so nice and caring, always willing to help. I was really impressed with them all; waitstaff, housekeeping and the crew.
