Review for a South America Cruise on Island Princess

I originally chose this cruise for the itinerary. It may have sounded wonderful on paper but the experience couldn't have been further from the truth. Although some things were not Princess's fault I say 90% was. This is a very old ship that should have been in dry dock. It had problems you would expect like leaks everywhere and a musty smell throughout the ship. 3 in my room alone. The showers ...

The last Princess cruise for me!

The reason I chose this voyage was the amazing itinerary that was offered. I had only cruised on Princess one time and I wasn’t happy. I had many friends that praise the line so I was willing to try again. Unfortunately, our experience was not a positive one. The itinerary was wonderful and we were able to get to most ports, except one due to a delay because of fueling, weather and ...

Circumvented South America with stops in Easter Island and Falkland Island sailed thru the Panama Canal and Went around the Horn. Rio during carnival. Avoided winter in Canada, what more can I say. Trip of a life time and it is now off my bucket list. The cruise had it’s up and downs. We were stuck in San Antonio, Chile for and extra 2 nights, god only know why and the Corona virus followed us ...

Like to travel on Princess ships. This was a amazing itinerary. Two things I really wanted to do was Easter Island and the Nazca lines. For me that was a over the top experience. There where many other things that I really enjoyed. Zumba in the morning, the shows at night. The Entertainment team was super. The whole crew, starting with the captain was concerned to show us a good time and to keep ...

Why did I choose this cruise? I have no recollection of why I chose Princess again after a mediocre world cruise experience in 2018. What could I have been thinking? What "offer" caught my attention and convinced me to ignore my "never Princess again" decision? Whatever it was, it was a mistake to book another long cruise with this pitiful line. I had hoped, I suppose, that the Island ...

Route: 58 days round trip Fort Lauderdale including 21 ports of call, passage through the Panama Canal, rounding Cape Horn, and scenic cruising around Devil’s Island. Total trip 17,591 nautical miles. 1. General Comments: We are regular cruisers, and our focus of this cruise was to get an overview of the South American continent. This cruise showed us that further visits are needed. Five ...

Panama Canal, partial transit

We were excited to view the new locks, which were made for the larger ships. We first went to listen to the excellent lector in the Princess theater, who told us the history of the building of the canal. It was extremely informative and prepared us to better understand what we would be seeing. We had originally booked a mini-suite, and the perks included were additional credits to spend on the ...

We chose Princess for the first time mainly for the ports of call. The trip overall was wonderful as far as the stops and the excursions we did, some we booked through the ship and others we chose once we got off at each port. The ship was a beautiful ship overall. The staff every where on the ship were exceptionally friendly, always greeting you with a smile as they passed by. Our stateroom ...

This was an excellent cruise. The ship was very comfortable, had excellent food and service, and had wonderful entertainment. We stayed on the ship through the locks returning from Gatun Lake to the Caribbean Sea. Fascinating to watch how the lock opens and closes. We were able to get to the viewing area in the very front of the ship, above the bridge! On deck 15, go all the way forward ...

Interested in the Panama Canal primarily but the whole itinerary was very appealing. We explored our departure city (Fort Lauderdale) before the cruise (1 night). Embarkation and disembarking was a breeze - so well organized, easy and quick. Ship has been refurbished so looked new. Cabins were typical sizes and there were good dining options on the ship. The entertainment was phenomenal both at ...
