First off if you are handicapped this ship is impossible to get down the corridors with a scooter or wheelchair once the housekeeping puts their carts out in morning which lasts all day .My wife needs a scooter to get around which we had to leave by the elevators until late at night after housekeeping was done ,which meant she had to walk from elevator area to room . I have never been on a ship ...

Pros: *Excellent service *Lots of fantastic entertainment *Deep swimming pools with chairs kept back. *Real professionally made pizza. *Lido often had quality 5 star food and a good selection. *MDR service and staff was impeccable. Food was creative and served hot. Cons: *The ships layout is confusing. Even the staff got turned around. *Food in the MDR usually lacked ...

Felt like second-class citizens

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Emerald Princess

Our 20th cruise with Princess, 20 days on the Crown in January/Feburary 2019, was one of the three best we’ve taken with this line, thanks to the creative activity and entertainment options on board. (You can read my review here on CC). Our 21st Princess cruise, through the Panama Canal December 3-18, was, on board at least, pretty much the worst. We felt like second-class citizens because of the ...

This was my longest ever cruise, at 15 nights aboard the Emerald Princess. I got to be reacquainted with the good, so-so, and bad in the 2+ weeks. Embarkation was a nightmare. The inbound arrival was 5 hours late in disembarking. Check in actually stopped, as they had no place to put anymore people without violating the capacity for the fire escapes. Unfortunately, the Los Angeles vendor staff ...

Quick 5 day getaway to Cabo

We started in Phoenix and drove to San Pedro the day before our cruise. We were routed thru Yorba Linda and decided to see the Nixon Presidential Library. The stop was well worth it. We did the stay and cruise package at the Crowne Plaza. The staff there was great. The hotel is showing its age but it has the location. On cruise day I drove to the port and dropped our checked bags at about ...

I chose this cruise to take my elderly mother on a shorter cruise. I also chose it for the price and the way the main dining and other activities are all centrally located so she would not have to walk as much. Summary: The Dining was very friendly and accommodating, even when we didn't arrive on time. The food was mostly good. But the formal night did not not have the usual steak and ...

We choose this cruise because we could get on in Los Angeles and because of the duration. We really liked the medallion that we wore on our wrists at all times. Having the ability to text each other for free via the app was a game changer. Loved the comedian, A.J. Jamal, the singer, Jennifer Singer and the other productions that we saw. Food was okay. Dining room staff needs to up their game. ...

Another Mexican Cruise But Fun

My husband and I decided to take this cruise over Thanksgiving when a suite became available at the last minute. Our last cruise with Princess was not so good, so our expectations were low. But we were very pleasantly surprised. The ship was big with 4,000 passengers and refurbished. Our suite was not large, but it was at the very back of the ship (aft in ship lingo) so it had a large ...

This was a Thanksgiving cruise with the family. My husband & I did a B2B. We had been on the Pacific Princess earlier in the year (service was amazing). So this was definitely a notch down. Service extremely slow in the MDR, buffet crowded most of the time. Just little extra's that were left out-like after dinner mints in MDR. No free wine tasting, on the 5 day no captains party and they cut ...

A Bit Of A Downgrade In The Works...Why???

Anytime Dinning in the Concerto is on the downgrade. Also in the Horizon Court. What is going on? Four meals at Concerto and all were unimpressive or poor in Concerto. Crown Grill and Crab Shack were excellent. There were 800 kids on board and the staff allowed them into the hot tubs which is a health problem. Ship in good shape. Have been on the ship many times. Mini suite was just fine and ...
