I chose this cruise because of the Glacier bay stop and the multiple ports & length of time to enjoy each. Princess cut off one stop completely Ketchikan & moved back our arrival time so shortened it also & cut off some of our 2 excursion.
We did catch a couple of the shows which were good and entertaining. The Crown Princess needs to be updated with some new carpet and upkeep nothing major ...
I hope this review is helpful.
For some reference - We are avid cruisers (+30) sailing on various lines including Princess. Our past cruise experience includes Princess competitors as well as some luxury lines. Our future sailings are guided by world destinations we're marking off our list, but also a few cruises from our home state of Florida each year. So here is our unabridged ...
We did R/T Barcelona for 3 weeks or 3 cycles. This ship had people boarding at Barcelona, Rome, Athens (and some at Crete). The cruise had wonderful ports (maybe too many!) and we had a beautiful Eastern and Western Mediterranean trip. Ship was new, clean, lots of amenities, nice staff, little ship movement (even sailing in lots of wind) and generally a wonderful floating hotel from great port to ...
We didn’t get the cruise we booked. We’d signed up for a cruise with several ports of call but, because of the ship’s mechanical difficulties, most of our excursions were cancelled. The port of Ketchikan was eliminated from the itinerary before we even got onboard the ship, eliminating one of our most desired destinations. The ship wasn’t running at full speed and didn’t make it into ports early ...
We choose. this cruise because of the price, we had been on the Princess in November 2021 and on Holland America in February 2022 and felt very secured in not getting COVID 19 everyone was required to wear masks when indoors, ,and you had to be fully vaccinated. So when we saw the price for this cruise we decided to take it.This cruise you had to be fully vaccinated but where not required to wear ...
The service on the Crown Princess is the same excellent service I have come to expect when cruising. The room steward, dining staff, and everyone else were courtious and kind. I found the musicians fabulous and enjoyed going to the different venues to experience the many different entertainers.
I love the international cafe on the Crown Princess. We had a nice light lunch there the first day ...
This was the most awful cruise I have ever been on. It started by being told one month prior to departure that we would not being going to Ketchican, as there was an issue with the ship and that they were adding the port of Icy Point. After we boarded the ship we were told that all of our excursions in Juneau were cancelled as we would be arriving late into Juneau, again due to the ship being ...
I truly enjoyed not having to wear a mask onboard. I spent most of my time in The Sanctuary and loved it!
The food was good with a few exceptions (too rare Prime Rib--it was almost mooing!) The World Fresh Marketplace food was delicious but the lines were long. The crowd of people blocked the view of some of the items on offer. But everything I had was great. Try the curried lamb!
As ...
Although Alaska was beautiful we were very dissatisfied with the ports-cancelled one and late to two. One excursion was shortened which resulted in barley enough time to experience the activity and get back to the boat in time; one was cancelled completely. Our stop in Victoria was only 3 hours-really just enough time to disembark; but something that said Canada on it and her back on board! The ...
We were offered 4 ports of call but were able to only go to 3 ports. Our 3rd port was dropped completely as the ship is only operating on one engine. Also every port of call we went to we arrive extremely late except for Skagway. Are trip was to arrive at Juneau at noon we did not get there until 6PM. We were to go to Ketchikan but it was drop for Icey Point then it to was drop altogether. We were ...
