Chose this cruise due to the itinerary and previous experiences sailing on Princess. Unfortunately, this experience was not like the pre-COVID cruises.
Pre-cruise, EZ Air was horrible. Although the airlines were having their own issues, flights were cancelled, neither my travel agent nor I could not speak to an agent. After trying to explain that both carrier’s reservation system only had ...
I’d never done a cruise in Australia and thought this would be a good way to have a holiday without leaving the country. I hadn’t left Victoria since Covid hit. Originally booked as a 12 night cruise which was changed to a 5 night and 7 night cruise a few weeks prior to departure for ‘operational’ reasons. Pre-booked excursions were refunded and had to be booked again and we had a day in Brisbane ...
Enjoyable cruise, Coral Princess may be an older vessel, she is clean and her appearance in public areas outside and inside, we could not fault. Outside paintwork, varnished wooden railings gleaming, spotless decking, maintenance crew continually seen cleaning and touching up paintwork and wiping off sea spray. Our trip had wild seas and the areas of glass must be nightmare to keep clean. ...
After two and a half years and 6 cancelled cruises, we were finally away! Originally, it was to be a 12-day coastal cruise ex-Brisbane. However, fate stepped in when that was cancelled and made into two back-to-back cruises. Sadly, that cut out out our visit to Newcastle and our much anticipated Hunter Valley excursion.
Oh well, never mind. Apart from the proliferation of those damned masks and ...
Like most people we have cruised with Princess many times and are Elite status which doesn’t appear to make any difference.
We were in a suite C628 which was a good size and in reasonable condition though looking very dated. The balcony had the blue plastic flooring which was loose and curling in the corners making it very dangerous and white paint flakes over the furniture and floor.
We ...
We chose the cruise because it was basically the first Australian cruise post pandemic.
It was sailing to all Australian ports so travel insurance was unnecessary and covid risk was minimal.
There was a crew covid outbreak prior to the cruise commencing and Princess handled the situation very professionally.
The crew were isolated and we were offered a full refund if we were ...
We loved this ship even though twenty years old because the venues such as the Explorers Lounge and Wheelhouse Bars are not found on the bigger new ships. We had not seen a similar venue to the Universal Lounge on other Princess ships. This is a great venue for production shows and big bands and as we love dancing, great for dancing the night away. The entertainment in all these venues was ...
Before I start whining let me say the onboard crew was wonderful. Friendly , attentive, hospitable and super efficient. Embarking and disembarking were a breeze if you followed the multiple emails form the cruise line. Do your health, photos, send for your Medallion before hand, Print out your luggage tags before you go and it will be super fast. In less than 20 minutes we were on board. Same on ...
We choose this cruise for the inside passage and Glacier Bay. The captain decided to go around Vancouver Island and into the Pacific Ocean which provided for a very rough ride since we ran into a bad storm and the vibration of the ship made for an extremely bad first night for all of us in our aft cabins. We all felt sick despite wearing scope patched...it was just a combination of bad ...
The Crown Princess has been having mechanical issues all of the Alaska sailing season. Time in port was greatly reduced or eliminated. Princess cruise line is fantastic but I would avoid this ship for the time being.
The only full day in port was at Skagway which was wonderful. I went to the Kroschel Wildlife Center and it was a fantastic experience. You were very close to all the animals and ...
