We loved this ship even though twenty years old because the venues such as the Explorers Lounge and Wheelhouse Bars are not found on the bigger new ships. We had not seen a similar venue to the Universal Lounge on other Princess ships. This is a great venue for production shows and big bands and as we love dancing, great for dancing the night away. The entertainment in all these venues was ...
The only decent dining in the whole ship was the Main Dining area. The buffet has very little variety and poor quality. Drink service was pitiful with massive waitstaff cuts. 20 minutes for a beer in the Casino and not much better elsewhere. Th Medallion app was a failure dropping out on staff frequently and was easier to go to the bar directly and wait for drink. The cocktail list had about 6 ...
We expected this to be a nice return to cruising based out of Brisbane.
We found the boarding process poor. The level of organization was poor and people were herded into a long queue for security checking. So much for social distancing.
Our cabin was a suite and we found it quite comfortable. Though getting dated. We had all we wanted here. Our steward 'disappeared' at day 5 so may had ...
Checking in was easy, but security was a nightmare. Stay 1.5 metres apart they say, then they cram people shoulder to shoulder in the security area, which had five security screens fitted and only three in use.
Cabin was small but comfortable and not having to go to a muster spot for a long uncomfortable lecture was great, do it on your TV screen.
Dining Room was a fiasco, make a booking ...
First Cruise back after 2 years 3 months, so very excited and interested to see changes.
Overall cruise was good but not exciting, never been on Coral Princess but it is very similar inside to other ships.
I will just list a few items and comment on them.
Boarding - hectic as everyone turned up early and no one controlled people regards boarding times, apparently was good later as ...
The ship was good, with many outlets for food and dining. Not too many children on board. Crooner's Bar was an outstanding place in my opinion. Staff and entertainment were 10/10. Food menu items reflected a more American/ European type of dining. Too much-pickled fish and meats. I would travel again on this ship but have my cabin more central as it is a long way from the back of the ship ( my ...
My Wife and I booked this cruise with a group of friends as a short getaway to get back into the spirit of cruising. While for the most part we enjoyed our little get away the Medallion Class app put a real damper on the whole experience. We found the app quite clunky and it wouldn't pick you up at times in the various areas of the ship meaning you would order drinks and they would never arrive. ...
Was so looking forward to this cruise. The cruise itself was fine, but we all noticed a decline in standards. I used to brag about the food on Princess cruises, but sadly its not what it was. Not just the authenticity/interpretation of dishes, but the temperatues and timings they were served at. Dress code seems to be a thing of the past too. The bar staff in the Good Spirits bar we frequented ...
The cruise itinerary suited my partner and I as this was our first cruise since the Covid pandemic. We wanted to experience life back on board to see if things hadn't changed to such a point that it would take the pleasure out of cruising. Although the travelling on board the ship from Brisbane to Airlie Beach and return gave us wonderful memories of past cruises the actual cruise ship itself was ...
We chose the trip for one reason - get back to cruising (Australia only reopened to cruise from Apr'22).
Although a 20-year-old ship, it was spotlessly clean, well maintained and functional. In fact we would rate this ship above Ruby Princess, the last ship we travelled prior to pandemic shutdown.
Staff were all fabulous - they are all friendly and approachable; they remember your ...
